NASCAR Pick 'Em 2019

How was the awards ceremony? I finished 4th my rookie year and got nuthin!

We had fried mullet, hushpuppies and tater salad with iced tea.

The fact that there was a limited menu and very few awards presented at the banquet last year had to do with budget cut backs.

I suppose we could do better if there was an entry fee involved.

hmmm. I'd put in 25 for a top 4 pay off $250,$150,$100,$50 with $75 going to the Administrator based on 25 entries. ;)

To date, 25 have indicated their intention to play the Pick 'Em game this year, 19 from last year and 6 that are new to the game.

There were another 16 that started the game last year, including the following 6 that stayed with it to the end: @Blake Hylton, @Clutch, @DC76, @FLRacingFan, @Greg, and @Michfan.

Veterans are welcome to come back and show their (ahem) stuff as there's certainly room for more players, old and new.

I thought more than 6 stayed to the end last year...myself included?

My formal announcement will be posted soon with a press release listing my sponsors.
They are great and they deserve all of the mutual rewards, energy and unmatched passion that the (Greg) nation will provide to them.

I will omit the letters of adoration from the sisters of many of my competitors..Posting them just would not be christian and betray Greg's unmatched humility and class.

Yeah, that post probably wasn't worded too clearly.

Of the 35 that started the game last year, 25 played until the last week.

Of those 25, 19 have expressed interest in this year's game while 6 have yet to commit.

Let's see if I can have a better year this year and remember to get my pics in and not miss more than 3 times.

Thank you very much!

I didn't play last year, but I paid close attention. I'll certainly play it strategically.

A list of those who have expressed interest in playing this year's game.

Driver picks for the Daytona 500 are beginning to trickle in from players by way of the board's conversation/message service, which is a good sign that the game is taking off.

However, because there are expected to be in excess of 40 entrants for the 500, players are cautioned to be sure that their pick will actually start the race.

The Speed Weeks schedule calls for all qualifying for the race to be completed by Thursday night, February 14th, following the two Gander RV Duels.

As is my habit, I won't open submitted picks until after I make my pick for the race, which for the 500 will occur after the starting line-up is confirmed following the running of the Duels.

The deadline for submitting picks for the 500 is Friday, February 15th, noon Eastern time.

Based on the surplus of over 40 Daytona entrants I am recommending that folks pick one of the final four drivers last year.

I’m working on my algorithm that maximizes points for each driver / race combination. I’ll be submitting my full season of picks next week. :booya:

I see only one drink of beer for every three darts thrown.

Based upon your past performances, ya might wanna consider changin' that up to a one-to-one frequency . . . . . :D
:booya: :D

Can I post all my picks for all the races at once since I might not have internet access for some races?

Yes, that's not a problem.

Picks can be submitted a race at a time, several races at a time, or the whole season all at once if that's what you prefer.

Just submit your picks by way of the private message service as detailed in Rule #3 of the Official Game Rules found in the first post of this thread.

For 'Tona, do the picks need in before the 125s?

FYI

Note that only 40 cars will start the race.

Greetings @pjmolo

I have started a new conversation on the NASCAR PICK EM '19. It's titled "NASCAR PICK EM '19 OFFICIAL"

My original list had a driver in it twice, so I had to redo my list. It's for the whole year.

Thank you!
