I had the good sense to buy an extended warranty on my Lincoln 18 months ago. The original 7 year had expired, but the local dealer offered a 5 year bumper to bumper because I had so few miles.
Took it in this morning to get the AC fixed. It was blowing hot air.
They finally called me --- the evap core had gone south. If I read correctly, that is in the dash and they have to basically take the car apart to replace it.
I only have to pay my small deductible instead of the $1500 - $2000 it will cost.

I did something RIGHT for a change. LOL

Yep. Good for you.

Oh, geez ---- please excuse my "patting myself on the back".
I really didn't mean to for it to sound so boastful.
I'm just relieved that they found the problem and it will get fixed.
I was helping you pat the back. It's something for you to say yahoo about. I would. :booya:

And by the way, I've been patting myself on the back for keeping my insurance on the beast. After 6 or seven years, ours is seven, when the RV is paid off most cancel their insurance. During the Christmas trip across Florida while we were in a convenience store a hit and run driver banged into the back of the beast. It's in the shop getting just under $5,000 worth of damage repaired. My deductible is $1,000. I'm patting the hell outa my back. :D

LOL AC. when it is almost 0 F up here.
LOL
I know. The only reason I found out the AC wasn't working is we had a really warm day last Friday. Turned on the AC and only hot air came out.
Gave the Service Manager a piece of my mind because it was supposedly "fixed" back in February when we had some warm days.
Believe me, no AC needed for the foreseeable future.

you gave him the teacher voice?

The aluminum radiator, electric fan and fan controller install in my truck cost me $730ish, it would’ve been $2k-$2500 for the consumer.

Hope I get my car back sometime today.

2:23 PM --- Still no word. I'm not surprised. Looked up the manual on changing out the evap core --- 10 pages!

When you said you'd have it back today, I was surprised. It's probably 8 hours in the book, maybe even 10.

Interesting you call your trailer the beast. What do you call your tow vehicle? We call our tow vehicle the beast and the trailer the fox.

I never thought about it. Since we have two trucks and two cars we just call it the silver truck. No name for it has ever jumped out at me. The first time I towed this particular trailer through the mountains I told the wife "damn this thing is a beast to haul through the mountains" and it stuck. It's the lightest trailer we've ever owned and when they make'm lighter they take weight away from the bottom so they're more top heavy than we're used to.
