KB #1! Why on Earth would you take any risk on pit road speed with that good of a piece?

He could easily have 2 additional wins right now between Richmond and Texas.
 
The reason he's so good is because he takes risks. Sometimes it doesn't pay off but most of the time it does.

I would tend to think he's good for other reasons. Sometimes the risk is worth the reward. He's usually pretty good at identifying that (has gotten better over the years). This was not one of those times imo. His pit crew was beating everyone off pit road, his launch on restarts were excellent, and it was still early in the race.
