Kevin Harvick instant classic interview

I am by noooo means a Harvick fan, but how in the world can you possibly suggest Harvick was at fault on this one?
That's what he always says. Blames it on the crew, c.c. Team anyone except for the driver.

He didn't come up with the strategy. This is legit like 2014 all over again.

I can understand why Harv is pissed, he may occasionally slip like anyone else. He calls himself out if he makes a mistake, but taking 4 was a horrible idea on the multi-zone hockey pucks.

I'm glad he's as pissed as I was. Why on earth do you bank on a caution strategy when you have the fastest car???

Pockrass: "If you were out in front, do you think you would have a chance to pass?" Are you ****** kidding me? You don't need to pass if you are out in front. Journalistic equivalent of trolling.

Typical jackass....just wanted to get away and pout somewhere.

I think he meant this in the respect of if Harvick was closer to the lead.

Reality TV -- they should televise parts of Team meetings.

I think Rodney Childers rationale for four tires was... "We've got nothing for Logano on equal tires, so let's roll the dice to give ourselves a chance to win." I don't fault Childers for that.

Objectively, the 4 was the fastest car all day (per loop data and Motorsports Analytics), but the 22 was spanking the 4 all day. Harvick could not pass Logano and lead him, that was clear to all, so why accept a strategy to finish second?

From my perspective at the track, he drove his a$$ off, making some of the best moves of the race. I don't like the guy, but seems to me he has a valid reason to be ticked.

Yeah he drove his tail off, the crappy loose wheel pit stop put him a lap down, he comes out and has a vibration o_O. He made that up and drove back up to the front, and lost it again buried back in the pack with an ultra conservative call. Meanwhile the leading Penske's and the JGR cars had flawless stops. Harvick showed he could pass Logano when he was up at the front.

I agree, but what frustrates me with some NASCAR media is that Bob knew he wasn't going to get an answer at that point, so what was he looking for? Bob ran into the same thing with Kurt a few years ago. He gets nervous, and says things that have no point IMO.

IMO that was the move of a Crew Chief with four or five wins on the year. Did Rodney actually say that? I thought Kevin was the only one with anything for the 22 actually.

I think Bob knows Harvick will continue to make an ass of himself so he just tees it up. It’s why the a**hole drivers don’t like him.

Yup.

And he was leading late in the race, at least according to radio, and couldn’t keep the 22 behind him. If he wanted to win, tires was his only possibility.

And that loop data is as good as it is at Tona and Dega. If you are in the draft, you are fast. He spent most of race catching up.

He will eventually try to bully somebody on the track, a couple of the youngsters won't have any of it. Harv has toned it down, but he is a bully at heart.

Seemed like the 22 was the only car that could pass for the lead and could drive away.
