Remember This Name-Justin Haley

He absolutely could. I don’t think it will happen again with this team though.

Same but I think he'll get a shot with a bigger team in the future. He's an K&N series champ, has done decent in the truck series (30+ top tens, 3 wins, and a pole) and he's still young. He's put in the butt time and I'm happy to see a kid like that get a cup win.

I still remember Greg Sacks 1985 win at Daytona and Bobby Hillin's 1986 win at Talladega! I was at Pocono in 2016 to see Buescher win the fog! The Sacks win still is amazing to me given the circumstances!

Trevor Bayne.
Derrick Cope.
Michael Waltrip.

There's no overlap between drivers who won only plate races and drivers in the HOF.

I don't know about the other two but I'm positive they'll let Michael into the HOF at some point just due to the circumstances of his Daytona 500 win.

Cope won at Dover too. Mikey won multiple races.

Haley seems like he's a good young driver with a bright future. It's not like John Wes Townley just won a Cup race.

People are confusing the caliber of team with caliber of driver. Haley is a talent, and is good on the roadies, short tracks, plate tracks, and mile and a half’s. Sure it was a fluke but a win is a win and Haley will always have a cup win to his name

I know plate wins are fluky by nature, but is this the first time we had a fluke winner of this magnitude? It's not like he had a car capable of running anywhere near the front. He was several seconds off the pace in practice and only "passed" a bunch of cars by not pitting.

Fair is fair, but at least Trevor Bayne actually earned his win.

Yep, and even the Almirola and Buescher wins were teams that were much more competitive than Spire Motorsports, which is barely a step above a start-and-park.
Isn't that part of the appeal of plate racing, that it lets the small teams be competitive? Or so I'm told.

THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST UPSET WINS IN MOTORSPORTS HISTORY

This is a gift for NASCAR screwing him out of last year's Xfinity race

I think some aren't paying attention. Last year on a super his win was Dq'd for under the line, and the last Xfinity Friday at Daytona he finished second behind Chastain, and he won the cup race. Spire put an ECR engine in the car. He keeps it up, he will be one of them they talk about who has the knack.

All three of the races you mentioned are at Daytona. Sorry, I just don't regard doing well here as indicating a driver will do well elsewhere.

I surly didn't post it for your opinion, like I have said, I have watched Haley since he ran the trucks. He's a good shoe IMO runs hard with the under funded equipment he gets and is a young up and comer.

I was with you up until "the earned" part. Haley and his team still earned it today, staying clean, avoiding the wreck, and making the right call staying out when Kurt came down pit road. That may be elementary, but is still a requirement and half the battle on the plate tracks.

I think I get what you're saying though...this is the most fluky win in the worst equipment I can think of on the Cup side, at least in my time.

Haley also has a K&N East title in 2017, and 3 wins in the arca series. Guy has a pretty good resume

Awesome to see him get a fluke win. Has run well in Xfinity and Trucks.

At least Haley has accomplished something in other series.. could have been Blake Jones in the BK Racing car where he never sets foot in a bigtime car again.

Yes, in my opinion. I'm not complaining that Haley won, I'm just asking if there's ever been a flukier win.
Reutimann several years ago at Darlington I think. Don't remember, slept a lot since then.

Charlotte. Luckily Reutimann won at Chicago based off talent & having a dominant car to not have just a fluke win in his career.

Thanks for the clarification. I had forgot about Chicago.
