2019 Grand Prix of Portland

Looks like it's going to ta a major Newgarden collapse for him to lose the title, but we've seen guys throw sure championships away before. It's not over but Joseph is in a great position.

Was at dinner the other night and the guy in the next booth had a team Lotus shirt on. I asked him about it and he's a retired racing instructor. One of his students was Santino Ferrucci. We moved to their table and the wives got to taking ad we were there two hours trading stories.

I don't see why improving numbers for IndyCar are necessarily coming at NASCAR's expense.

Not the fanbase but the talent pool. The more popular Indy gets, the more chances those great open wheel guys like Tony Stewart, Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson choose that instead of stock cars for a career

I'm not sure the American oval guys will try to slide over outside of maybe more 500 entries with the way the schedule is laid out. Where it probably will be seen the most is more young American road course racers staying to climb up the Road to Indy ladder instead of going to Europe to run in F1 feeder series, and drawing more international talent from guys who weren't able to make it to F1 or got pushed out of F1. Rossi had a good junior career in Europe but if you can't align yourself with one of the big F1 teams at a very early stage in your career you're kinda screwed. So it was America or keep driving for an F1 team that would eventually collapse.
