RACE thread --- Daytona 500

It's decision making more than it is skill. Best open wheel guys wouldn't have a clue here.

Best open wheel drivers know they can die with a poor decision. Keeps people inline relatively speaking...

Once Chastain hit the flat there was no chance of keeping it minimal. He frisbee’d right up the track.

I'm just hoping this is over by the time #1 Baylor vs #3 Kansas starts. The demo derby lottery has sadly waned my interest....

I was actually thinking about that as I was reading your original post. You wonder if they are more ballsy and reckless because of this type of racing, and the safety.

Now, I should HOPE that each one of us would prefer this dumb decision making with safe cars over smarter racing with less safe cars.

I don't watch Indy, or Formula 1 racing at all due to the safety. I can't be a fan of a driver or drivers racing cars that look that unsafe.

Or there's no more cars left, which ever comes first.

I see better/more respectful racing at the local short track. The WOO guys don't play like this.

I love open wheel racing because I grew up on it. The danger was always part of it. The respect those drivers have for each other and their machines have always been of the utmost level...

I wish a different sperm would have won the race to fertilize Mrs. Hamlin's egg
This is a unique way of express your dislike of Mr. Hamlin lolol

You gotta wonder what THAT Denny Hamlin would be like lol

Plate racing creates desperate racing.

The past 3 years Denny has been leading going into a GWC at this race. Considering the level of attrition and wrecks beyond your control that’s unbelievable. Hope he or Buescher wins

FWIW after the dumbassery that Logano showed on that last little run I'm now in the camp of hoping to see him tote an asswhooping after the checkered

Halo and aeroscreen are major steps forward.

As it is Indy drivers usually go pretty nuts on ovals (esp. superspeedways).
