2020 ARCA Series news

I really like the schedule with the exception of Toledo Speedway being moved to the East Series. Other than that I like some of the changes. Adding a couple of road courses is a nice addition.

I’m pretty indifferent about the Toledo thing. It is a slight step down, but not a big deal IMO. The only thing I really hated to see removed from the east series was south Boston, but I loved seeing Berlin back on either series schedule after a year without. Very happy that they added Nashville back to the east schedule after the 2020 schedule had already been released as well. Was great to have the National Arca series there for a few year, east will be nice as well!

Consolidation Changes

The integration of ARCA and what was the K&N Pro Series has been completed and the new model goes into effect this year. Four different championships will be decided: ARCA Menards Series, ARCA Menards Series East and West, and the ARCA Showdown. A full breakdown of the schedules for each series can be found here.

I hope she wins just to piss off the haters

East series news.
Five Flags Speedway race rescheduled for October.
Toledo rescheduled, June 13th, no fans...
I don't understand what the point of scheduling these short track races without crowds are. No TV money. I don't know if this is a reduced purse race like the modified tour race is.
Why not just wait to reschedule these til later in the year?
I'm extremely disappointed. Instead of going to this race, which is one of my favorite series and near home, i'll be taking a trip out to Missouri or the Dakotas for a sprint car race...
NASCAR is being overly cautious... Very disappointed.
I imagine this will be on NBC Sports Gold

I'm very upset about the Toledo race being relegated to a K&N, er, ARCA East race. ARCA's hometown.

It was planned to be that way all along. Personally, as someone who attends it every year, i didn't really mind that think that it would have been better to keep it as part of the main national ARCA series, but the east series is pretty comparable, and I was happy with the event.
Now that its a no fans allowed thing, i'd rather the whole thing just be cancelled... No need to race in Ohio at this point, they should be racing at Lebanon I-44 Speedway or in the south where fans are allowed. Though I guess it doesn't matter if NASCAR is racing in a state allowing fans or not, NASCAR isn't worrying about if its allowed, NASCAR is deciding to be too overly cautious. There is no reason that the Myrtle Beach race can't be ran with fans in the stands. Gaffney SC just had a big block modified race, a friend that was there told me it was packed. Other races have been happening in SC as well......
I don't see who benefits from these races (Modifieds at MB & ARCA in Ohio), NASCAR isn't making money from the race, the teams are losing more than usual (reduced purses), the fans lose out as well... I understand the big NASCAR series racing since they get millions from the TV deals.
Not sure who was pushing for these modified and ARCA races to happen now, why not just wait a while til the situation can be better? There are some rumors that Indianapolis could be the first NASCAR weekend back with fans... So, why not wait to reschedule ARCA and modified races til July?
A lot of the modified teams aren't happy about the reduced purse and they sudden addition of an event with a lot of travel and barely any time to plan for. As reported on RaceDayCT, several teams that were gonna run full time this year (including 3rd in points from last year) at sitting this one out... Now that they won't be championship contenders, they will probably sit out any other races that they deem too far or inconvenient as well, so it will hurt the fields in the series for the entire year...
The grandstands at Myrtle Beach are HUGE, plenty of room to social distance. When I was there for the modified tour, it was probably at about half capacity anyway... No reason to not at least do a limited crowd at a place like that and enforce social distancing and masks if necessary. This whole thing is pretty lame, I'm much less of a NASCAR fans now than I was a couple of weeks ago due to some decisions they are making. Looking forward to some trips in the midwest to see sprint cars in the next few weeks. I'm obviously not going to be able to see any NASCAR, even when they are in my backyard. Sucks, but it is what it is...

Arca race is getting ready to start on FS-1. Crafton is in the booth and Deegan is in the field

My soul is grieved by the obscene Sioux Chief advertisements. Did they get permission from the lead Sue?

Because of Covid, I cancelled my planned trip to Darlington on Labor Day. To my excitement, it was announced a couple weeks ago that ARCA is making a special trip to I-44 Speedway in Lebanon Missouri due to Covid restrictions elsewhere. I am only 90 minutes from that track, so you can bet I am going. They don't host weekly races there anymore, but I'd be okay with a few big races each year. I went to a CRA Super series race back in may at the track which was also a unscheduled event and it was amazing. Typically I don't enjoy ARCA, but it will be cool to see them live.
