If Chase doesnt do anything about Martin, he’s gonna get pushed around in every playoff. Shoulda beat Kyle’s ass last time here and should beat Martin’s now.
I get that you're hot. But Chase isn't gonna do that. Cooler heads prevail. Chase is too smart to get that emotional. Not many drivers go out there looking to throw fists.

And some still won't recognize him as one of the greats.

Why aren’t they asking Truex and Elliot about the......oh ok here’s Chase.

Good interview by Chase.

One could argue that Harvick is the best driver of the past decade, or at least the last five years
He's been better than Kyle since 2015.

This supposed to be a throwback race and emotions are supposed to flair. So neither Chase nor Martin are gonna confront each other? and Chase is “all shucks man hate it for my guys”. He’s gonna get bullied for the rest of his career.

The entertainment of this sport is in the toilet man. Most milquetoast drivers at such a high intensity moment.

Truex did NOT just try to blame Chase for that....

No he won't man. Drivers who win don't get pushed around. Champions don't get pushed around..

He'll win more and get himself a championship, it's not gonna be a whole career thing. Don't sweat it dude :)

Did Harvick just tell the fan to keep the checkered?

If so, nice move.

I agree thats cool and worth noting that Ryan Blaney has given a young fan the checkered every time he's won a cup race.

Neither Martin or Chase seem to care. Gotta love the INTENSITY of the pLaYoFFs.

****** lulz

Chase was way more chill than I would have been
Chase went full throwback and even emulated Jimmie Johnson’s personality.

One darlington where much doesnt matter and he’s mad as hell, flipping the bird and his team is ready to pounce on the #18 squad.

Next darlington race in the playoffs where everything matters and he’s milquetoast as ****. Needs to show some spine. He’s been tossed around nearly every playoff.

Funny thing about that incident is that it fits the Dale Jr. catchphrase "slide job!" better than when he first uttered it. In dirt parlance that was a dirty slider, and there was no opportunity for Elliott to back off and turn under him.

There is nothing wrong with Chase's interview. He knows it wasn't a case of "bullying", but an error in judgment.

Truex wasn't contrite at all. That's bullish!t. I have more issue with him not owning up to it than doing it once, given his generally clean driving record. He'd whine for weeks if he was on the other end of that.

Dale Jarrett just said Chase ‘held him down’.....lol OK

What did the spotter tell MTJ, did he clear him? We seem to always have his audio at our finger tips NBC so let's hear it.

lol he said ‘CLEAR CLEAR CLEAR’

but he said it AFTER they’d both got in the wall.

If they had the 19 radio on during the pass attempt he said nothing till after the incident.

Love the notion that he’s allowed to bomb it in there and Chase is supposed to jump on the brakes. The dude has a huge sense of entitlement on track and it’s apparent anytime there’s so much as a lapped car in front of him.
Dude finally gets into top tier equipment and lucks into having a genius CC for the first few years and his victimhood mentality transformed into entitlement.

I've always thought Jarrett was a JGR shill and never had a reason to think differently. Hell the whole NBC booth leans that way. All I heard yesterday is Denny Hamlin, and this race Truex..or whenever KDB happened to pass someone.

I agree with DJ's comment. Chase contested the pass, he didn't stay running the high line like he was, he moved down to get on Truex's door and pinch him down, nothing wrong with that and to be expected going for the win. That's the risk associated with doing that move though.

Still 100% Truex fault. No patience with clearly the fastest car and 15 to go, sailed it off at a bad angle on the flat banking, then the big mistake of not being clear.

Dillon DRIVING that car and catching the car which had been one of the three fasted the previous 490 miles is gonna give him some serious brownie points in my book.

Maybe he'll be at a positive number by the end of the year

I'm going to go with it was just an unfortunate racing incident. If MT hadn't misjudged there wouldn't have been a crash but Chase new he wasn't going to clear him and he could have backed off and avoided it and there wouldn't have been a crash. It could have been the same thing the lap before if MT hadn't backed off of a big run on Chase when Chase blocked him. But over all Chase did a good job most of the day and Byron and Bowman did a very good job. JJ was doing good until the end. So on to Richmond for round 2.

This is the most fair and rational take I’ve read on the incident. Thanks.

I disagree on the 4 being one of the 3 fastest but dillon was impressive tonight. He can drive a race car better than most here want to admit.
