Friday - Truck Race (7:30 PM) (FS1)
Saturday - Xfinity Race (5:00 PM) (FS1)
Sunday - Cup Race (3:00 PM) (FOX)

hes gotta be a fav for this race. Will ge dominate the R-R pick em chart? stay tuned....

I know the trucks are on the road course as well, I think Xfinity is also. Its kind of a 'tonya redux

"Thankfully" so far I don't think this track is great for stockcars

Truex bad bast in the Clash. I pick the 19 over the 9 in this one. It's going to be fun.

Maybe it’ll rain.

Get those 10 year old full wets up on the banking.

this one's day race, but I can't help to like this Goodyear Blimp outline pic of the track, good look at "the whale's tail" aka harmon's saddle.

JGR strong with the lower downforce package. I like. MTJ this weekend. Write it down. Where is that ****** gauntlet?

I think this might be my favorite road course for NASCAR. Gives you the classic banking, out of control under braking, essential that you can launch out of the chicanes....and then manage that infield with no downforce. Hell yes.

LOTS of good ones to follow starting mid-pack and beyond. Gonna be a fun start.

I think Hamlin get’s his Daytona 500 redemption at the road course on Sunday.

Very possible. Early days, but in listening to the Toyota scanners, he sounds like he has his **** most together....still.

Nascar fixed his mud hole, but I think Elliott's going to have something to say about it, Hamlin, even young Ryan and KDB isn't a slouch at road courses.

What exactly have then done there? I saw pics of more concrete....adding turtles?

They widened it and if I had to guess, they will put no no's there to keep the cars from cutting the corner or it's bent spoiler time.

Matt D is starting 32nd, he's one to watch for coming through the field.

I'm also curious to see how Briscoe gets on with road courses at the Cup level. AJ will be AJ... This field is pretty good overall.
Good call, Briscoe is racing like he has blood in his eye and he pulled off a hell of a win last year at Indy beating a couple of good ones (A.J.). I'm excited to see what happens, it should be a hell of a race.

How do they determine the starting lineup? Is it still a combination of finishing position, fastest lap and point standing?

Holy smokes, just got reservations at a hotel across the street from the speedway for a little more than $100 night for this weekend. Guess I will be going for Saturday and Sunday. Friday looked iffy weatherwise.
Somebody forget to tell the Reservations desk that the schedule had changed? When you check out, book that puppy for next year; if you don't use it, I will!

Good luck with the weather there. It would be something to get all the races in on a dry track.

Just listened to Preece's interview and he said besides the concrete they are adding rumble strips and turtles to the bus stop. Kinda strange they have been running the Rolex 24 on that track for years and they haven't seen the need to do it. And like Petty said these are supposed to be the best drivers in the world.

Yeah, but certainly not the best road course racers in the world.....with a couple of possible exceptions. The good ones will figure it out quickly. The bad ones will lose their front ends in 10 laps....or less.

They run this little filler - I don’t know what else to call it - back at the Bus Stop for the Rolex. That’s usually enough to try to stop them from abusing the curbs. IIRC Chase said it was where he struggled the most last month and was worried he had damaged the floor taking too much back there.

From what Hamlin posted up above it looks like those turtles are going to be a different animal entirely. It’s a fast chicane, someone can screw up a good car pretty quickly if they get too greedy.

IMO, you stop them from cutting, and it puts this even more into Chase and Truex's hands as they are the best at saving brakes. Love how brakes are a big deal with the low downforce package here. It has been a long time since that was ever a consideration at Martinsville with the advancements in brake technology. Alcon, etc. are behind here with these cars IMO. While I love advancements and engineering in aero, suspension, and engine....I absolutely hate in with brakes. I believe that the advancements in this area have made too many too good at Martinsville. Sunday has the potential to regain some exclusivity in terms of ability in this area.

BTW....Does anybody have the info with regard to who uses what brakes? I believe that the Toyotas use Alcon.....They did anyway last time I was on pit lane and checked....and yeah, I check that stuff.....
