2021 Camping World Truck Series

It looks like I will be rooting for drivers with different engine manufactures for this race... Hailie Deegan, Tanner Gray, Kyle Larson, and Kevin Harvick. Saturday night is going to be fun.
Good chance they all will race. They are only eliminating 4 trucks out of 44. Can ya imagine 40 trucks running at the same time at Bristol? All 39 of the Cup cars race. Uh, I wonder if lapped traffic will play a part? It is going to be crazy, heads will be blown. Boneheads galore.

Aren't they all pretty much safe on owner points?

how many lap down trucks will out lead lap trucks? Even on pavement, the trucks like to wreck

The last 5 positions are owner points. Anybody know what is meant by PC ?
Bob Pockrass

Truck heats 4:30p Saturday on FS1. Lineup based on point system for heat finish (1st-10, 2nd-9, etc with 10th/worse-1pt) plus one point for every spot improved from start of heat to finish (can't lose points). 35 trucks by those pts, last 5 spots 2021 owner pts (may incl one PC)

Deegans on the pole for her Qualifying race

Maybe harv can ask HD for some pointers about driving on dirt...

^Jessica and Stewart are not in the same Qual - that would have been humourous

Saturday’s Pinty’s Truck Race on Dirt presents unique challenge to Truck Series drivers

Success at Eldora may be a good predictor of success on Bristol dirt, but it’s not infallible. And it’s certainly not justification to rule out certain drivers with limited experience on the surface. Bowyer knows that only too well.

He recalled a time, years ago, when he and Kevin Harvick made a road trip to Sharon Speedway in Ohio—the home track of the legendary Blaney family—and raced dirt modifieds. Harvick had never run a modified before.

“He not only spanked me, he won the race,” Bowyer said. “I saw it with my own eyes, I witnessed it. It blew me away. I watched Jimmie Johnson at the Prelude (to the Dream at Eldora) get in my dirt late model and won that race before I did, the year prior to me. I think that’s the best way to answer, ‘Can anybody win this race?’

I pray deegan was working on something - 3rd to 33rd

Single lap times all depend when you hit the track on dirt, look at consecutive lap times and that will tell a truer story of how good they are. For example if you go by single lap Ryan Newman in first practice was 38th, but as Bowyer said on the broadcast if you look at times later in the session he was amongst the fastest.

That's not just on dirt. It applies on asphalt and concrete too.

So was the truck race rained out???
Postponed until Sunday night. Heats for both series were cancelled; fields were set using the usual calculus equation. Cup race remains at the originally scheduled time.

Plenty of rain forecast so all of that will probably change again.

Monday at noon

I really don’t see how they can get the track into good shape in time to run the trucks by noon tomorrow, much less cup by 4. Gotta believe it will take major grooming and pushing of mud followed by tons more dry dirt. Where do you find that after a flood?

I think she will have a much better chance of making that race without all of the wringers in the field.
