Cup RACE thread --- Bristol

The HMS guy who kicked Kyle Busch's ass for a decade, before the ones now who have been doing it for the last two seasons ;)

It’s odd that guy quit winning races when they brought in that laser chassis inspection…🤔

If Kevin doesnt run into Chase and nearly put him in the wall, cutting a tire down in the process, none of this happens.

Reap what you sow.
If chase doesn't put kevin in that situation then Harvick doesn't wash up into him. Chase forced himself into the middle lane. Seriously a racing deal. Just too many people not looking at things objectively.

Regarding Elliott holding up Harvick so Larson could catch him, Logano did the exact same thing to Larson in an earlier race so Hamlin could catch Larson. It isn't like it's the first time a teammate helped another teammate. Won't be the last.

If Chase doesnt put Harvick in what position? What a joke. Chase didnt put anyone in a position. The only position Chase is in control of is his, and he raced Harvick side by side for the win. Eventually Harvick couldn’t hang and ran out of talent, and ran up into the #9 car.

Then tried to throw Larson into the wall by hooking his right rear.

Harvick got bested by two young talents tonight and he can’t handle it. This sport has a history of veteran drivers desperately trying to cling to relevancy while the young talent comes in and steals the thunder. It’s glorious.

Chase finished 25th.

oh the drama Dr Phil

Racing. Incident. Harvick did nothing wrong. Chase did nothing wrong.

They'll both move on.

All in all, the playoff result is about as fair as it could be so far. If you rank drivers according to their number of top 5 finishes so far this season, the top 12 are the 12 drivers who remain in the playoffs after Bristol.

At the same time, though, we're still being deprived of what would likely be an epic championship battle between Larson and Hamlin if the entire season counted equally.

Alright. Now I’ve read the whole thread and caught up. Watched the race this morning as my Bulldogs played last night and went to bed after that win by them.

I like both drivers, Chase clearly my favorite but I’ll call him out when need be(see Dega a few weeks back with his block) so you know I’m not bias when it comes to him. Harvick cut down his tire, sure it was an accident 100%, but a lot of you here crying about Chase are doing so because you don’t like him. If your favorite driver did this, you be talking about how awesome it is!!! Well some of y’all favorites would be to much of a bitch to get out the car at the end also tho and not even talk to Harvick.

to sum it up

ITS BRISTOL BABY!!

"It was kind of a chicken [expletive] move that he did there at the end," Harvick said. "We’re racing for the frickin' win at Bristol.

"We’re three-wide in the middle, and he throws a temper tantrum, like I was just trying to get the lead and race him hard. Then he pulls up in front of me and just sits there until I lose the whole lead."

Elliott said he couldn’t hear what Harvick was telling him at the car as Harvick kept his helmet on.

"I couldn’t hear him," Elliott said. "He had his helmet on and stuff. I’m 25 – I, at least, took my helmet off to, at least, to have a conversation with him, and he’s 40-however years old. Nothing new."

Yeah, as much as I like Ol Harv, he has a habit of keeping his helmet on when he has these talks. Like come on man, if you see the other guy with his off, take yours off as well. That's how it should be.

I think Larson has opened up a pretty beefy lead at this point. Over 30 pts, yeah?

Kevin p2
Chase p25
Now we have Kevin and Chase both without helmets…I guess the helmet isn’t really a factor.
Yeah once Harvick knew he wasn’t going to get his ass kicked by Chase he felt comfortable to remove it. Plus he has his guy there to “hold him back” if need be.

I guess I don’t really see the need to take the helmet off if they’re just going to talk, and that’s what it seemed like they were going to do. If they’re going to fight, then yeah. At any rate they wound up doing so without any a helmet in sight in the garage and then hauler.

Plus about 90% of the time there seems to be some yokel crew member looking to get one more rep at linebacker in. Biggest thing I have a problem with is the PR/manager lackey/clinger.
