Truck RACE thread --- Talladega

Smart move by Fogleman didn't let Nemechek force him below the yellow line big congrats

It doesn't look good that's for sure. My question is does everyone think that she would just keep her right foot in it for no reason at the risk of crashing and costing her a truck as well as injury? That just doesn't make sense. She barely scrapes by week to week with enough money just to get to the track. I would like to see a comment from her regarding this situation.

I think it was a loose nut behind the wheel

I went to the double header day at Dega with one main goal, follow Deegan on the radio and
see how she manages her race. I also had the idea to sit close to the fence just past the start finish line
to feel the action. So I found a spot , 2 rows from the fence , about 15 yards past the flag stand and in front
of a big screen which was in the infield facing toward us. The power of the pack coming toward us and
being that close to the fence was amazing. The aroma of exhaust and rubber and the pack wind hitting
you in the face took may back 55 years and reminded me some of the main reasons I became a motorsports fan,
it appeals to all the senses. Seeing them sliding across the finish line at the checkers was just off the
charts cool. I was covered in tire smoke.

Hallie did great. She followed her spotters advice , was polite on the radio, kept her cool, and apologized
for her mistake which she really only had one. She kept the truck smooth , straight and fast. If she fell back a little
her pit crew got her out quick to make up some spots. It was a big relief she did not get hurt in one of the big crashes
that ended her day. My final sumation is she belongs here, and I dont think she is a flash in the pan.

In all seriousness, do you know her and is that your perspective based on what you know? Can you enlighten me? I am only a fan of her and have spent some limited time with her and the team.

Personally no, Professionally yes as in being with those in the industry who have had personal dealings with her. She is in over her head when we run at tracks over a mile. note: she is not the only one but we are talking about her abilities. Her equipment is severely outdated and and she will never be competitive in them which sometimes can cause one to take risks like she did Saturday to improve her position and possibly bring home a larger purse. You have to know when its over, and its over.
