Xfinity RACE thread --- Martinsville

Ty Gibbs = The Real Deal

Your next Jimmie Johnson on full display.

I remember when people said the same about Chris Bell, Briscoe, and a bunch of others. He’s in the best equipment money can buy vs a bunch a guys struggling to make it week to week. He may be good but I’m not buying the next Jimmie Johnson yet. Hell, Ryan Truex is running top 5 in JGR equipment right now.

Maybe not the next JJ but Briscoe does seem to be finally showing something in Cup. It usually takes a few years, and I don't say this just because he has a win this year. Also Cindric to me seems like a rising star.

I agree and William Byron is coming into his own as well but I don’t buy the next big thing because somebody is dominating the xfinity series

Just what we needed is another yellow to break up that GRUELING 1 lap run

I've always said Byron would be ever since his truck debut tbh. Think how many laps he ran 1-2 with Larson last year. If not for Larson dominating, we may well be talking about him dominating instead. Byron seems maybe a bit more consistent as well at different track types etc, though I'm definitely not claiming him to be the better of the two. Maybe Kyle Petty is right. :XXROFL:

Also to add as far as everyone discussing Ty and how people have claimed others to the next JJ, just for example, remember JJ actually never really did much in Xfinity.

Lots of guys, for example again Casey Atwood, were claimed to have much higher potential than him before entering cup. So you never know. Someone like Haley or Harrison could end up being the next.

not everyone lol. It's a waste of time as far as I am concerned. The guy in the booth came in 3rd and 1st his two years in Xfinity

By everyone there, I just meant "everyone who is discussing it". 👍

I DO think there is some merit to watching and being able to see potential etc so not a complete waste of time, but you never know who will really realize that potential.

Decker is 17 laps down. Did I miss something that she was in or is she just that slow?

Went to the garage with brake issues. There were some people saying they heard radio comms with her CC that she had the brake bias dialed 100% to the rear at some point…
