Kyle Busch vs. Tyler Reddick: An Analysis

If I had to guess, all the religious stuff that is a part of JGR is a turn off for a lot of people.
Coach et al come off as a holier than thou

You could be right, however, I'll say one thing about him. Regardless of how anyone may feel about religion, Gibbs isn't just putting on a show, he truly believes. Several years back he was in our area doing a promotional for a sponsor. Very few people knew he was in the area, we are a long way away from Nascar or pro football. He contacted the state penitentiary and asked if he could come speak. My brother who worked there at the time asked myself, my other brother, and my dad to come watch him speak in the prison.

Coach came and did a speech for these guys about God and life and tried to give them hope and purpose. He talked about his own shortcomings in life. They had just been fined by Nascar and he talked about how he was in the room when they made the decision to try this on their cars. He was humble and kind. No one asked him to come. There were no cameras or media there. The world has no idea he did it. He did this to try and help. I bet this was far from the only time he did something like this.

I don't cheer for his teams (especially the 11 lol) but I do respect the man. It's what a person does when no one is looking that shows their true character. Whether or not a person believes what he is saying doesn't change the fact that he does, and he is legitimately trying to give back.

To me it's not a religious or coach thing it's the Toyota way of doing business that the turn off for me. They were the ones that made the big push for manufacturers sticking together at the plate tracks, now look what we have. They made a big push that TRD would supply engines to all Toyota teams, now look what we have 4 engine manufacturers? They just came in with some much money and technology that pushed everyone to match them and pushed a lot of good people out.

Germain, Furniture Row, Leavine family.....

What did Germain have to do with Toyota beside selling to 23XI? They lost GEICO and that was that.

LFR were never more competitive than they were in their final two years with Toyota. That team went under due to the pandemic as much as anything else.

Yep, Leavine's construction company was losing money during the pandemic and he had to stop racing because of it.

Even with Bell's funding, it made no sense to continue with the team.

He sure wasn't making any money with the junk the yotas were giving him and Spire who bought the charter and the rest seem to be doing just fine fielding the 7 car with LaJoie driving. Hmm.

Its only two races in. We'll see. Reddick should have some strong runs in the 45

Also, I don't think he was a fan direction NASCAR is going in terms of well...

Anyways, it was expensive for him to continue. Matt D did not bring sponsors or any additional funding the year before, so it probably hurt his bottom line more than he wanted. Has to do whats best for himself and his business.

Toyota has been known to make it that way...See Furniture Row.

5-Hour Energy left and Visser did not want to sponsor the program himself.

I'm not going down this rabbit hole today.
Then you shouldn't have in the first place. Don't forget the Yotas raised the price to play for Barney at the same time..don't forget that..ever. They took the cream Truex and Pearn for themselves.

Why would Toyota take actions that would cause financial harm to some of their branded entrants and cause harm to said brand?

Makes no sense. Over the course of the past 75 years, literally dozens of owners have opted out of this millionaires game.

Makes perfectly good sense. Raise the price to play and get their star driver and crew chief. Of course preacher Joe tried to throw a wrench in the works when he took their whole pit crew after they didn't let Joe's driver lead the race at Indy and Barney at that time was whipping their asses. So Toyota did their part and raised their franchise fees and made it impossible for Barney to continue at Furniture Row.

Wut?

I'm still waiting to hear how Busch is tied as the all-time winningest driver.

Why do you always forget to mention that Barney himself said that he wasn't priced out? Because.....THE NARRATIVE. Go back to the NASCAR Shop, and let me know what you want.

Gimme a hell yeah for @WhiningSmoke
As of this moment, we're no longer affiliated. With this thread, WhiningSmoke is now officially excommunicated from The Order of the Two-Man Power Trip. While we appreciate his boundless enthusiasm for the Two-Man Power Trip, the level and fervor of his anti-Reddick rhetoric has become problematic for our organization. The Order wishes WhiningSmoke the best in all of his future endeavors.

It’s unfortunate to hear that with the exclusion of WhiningSmoke…. The Order will become a B+ organization…. Much like the driving talent of that no-good B+ driver Tyler Reddick.

Rest assured, if that B+ driver is winning the race I'm going to call on you to put a hex on him. As they say he made his bed with Hambone's help, now he has to lie in it. I've heard nothing but betting on the come from the 23XI bunch. The first year was a disaster and this year isn't starting out any better.

You spit on The Order of the Two-Man Power Trip, you spit on the Two-Man Power Trip. Foolish!

I don’t think we have to worry about any B+ driver winning any races without the rocket ships that RCR were giving him. Everyone talks all this smack about Austin Dillon, yet Reddick has finished 2nd to him twice. Reddick won two phony road course races, and a Texas race where literally everyone in front of him wrecked. I don’t think that 23XI who has only won on speed on one track ever will be able to mask Reddick’s inability to be a consistent multi-time winner and champion at the Cup level.

You would think that bunch that slaps TRD on everything that moves, wouldn't have had Wallace's engine melt down. After all, they had four cars last year that did the same thing. They didn't have to worry about Reddick though. He didn't make it far enough to melt.

From a Two Man Power Trip to maybe some Mega Powers....I think we have a new alliance here at RacingForum’s.com!

Joking aside, it’s early. Reddick is a good driver, has talent. He’s gonna do just fine this year at 23XI, it’s early yet. I’d expect him to hit his stride around Coca-Cola 600 time, he’s with a new team after all that had some success with Kurt Busch, say what you will but I think these things sometimes take some time. I do believe Kyle Busch will statistically wipe the floor with Reddick this year, he’s got something to prove and this was almost my bold prediction this year: Kyle Busch is going to win more Cup races this year than 23XI and JGR combined. We’re in for a season of the Kyle Busch Revenge Tour.

Oh, the ol' Reddick will be good sometime story. For sure. Under Denny's "you will never win over 10,000 races like me" coaching, Reddick will jump off the top rope and fly like an eagle.
