I'm getting married next year on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend.... My fiancé said "ya know if we leave Saturday afternoon, we can make it to Charlotte and catch the 600 on Sunday as a mini honeymoon".

What a queen.
Isn't nice of her to confirm you made the right decision? 😍

So is the rest of the year on Amazon Prime? I've never watched a live event on it, can I start it from the beginning if I'm late? Can it be rewatched? I like to go back and relive great moments.

Just the next 6 races. Then its TNT and then NBC.

I'm looking forward to the Amazon broadcast. During those 6 races I don't have to worry about fox changing the channel so the local news can come on and I miss the end of the race as nobody told my DVR that they changed the channel. And yes, you can start the race whenever you like, as well as FF or RW.

Heck, Amazon Prime is cheaper than a cable package. And since NASCAR is all I use Sling for, I’d actually be in favor of the entire season being on Amazon.
But, Amazon Prime also requires an internet connection capable of streaming. That adds $ to the cost to make it similar to a cable package.

I don’t know. We use Cox around here and a cable package by itself is still more expensive than Internet + Sling. Within the past couple weeks, I looked at ditching Internet and just getting a Cable package through Cox and I was shocked at what the cost of that would have been.

Notes – Minor change to left-side tire for Cup cars at Charlotte: Being on 18-inch bead diameter tires, NASCAR Cup teams will run a different tire set-up than those in the Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series at Charlotte this week . . . Cup teams have run this right-side tire code at Las Vegas, Homestead, Darlington, Kansas and Texas already this season . . . this is the first time these teams have run this left-side tire code . . . compared to what was run on the Charlotte oval in 2024, this left-side features a compound update . . . this tire set-up came out of a Goodyear test at Charlotte on March 18-19 . . .teams (drivers) participating in that test were the Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota (Chase Briscoe), Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet (William Byron) and Penske Racing Ford (Ryan Blaney) . . . with this 18-inch tire and its lower profile sidewall, NASCAR Cup cars do not run inner liners in any of their tires.

Goodyear to run “Honor and Remember” sidewall at Charlotte: Since 2010, for one weekend per NASCAR season, Goodyear has changed the branding on the sidewall of its racing tires in a show of support for the United States military and fallen heroes. This being the 16th year of that program, the official tire supplier to NASCAR’s top three series will work with the “Honor and Remember” organization for the seventh straight year. The standard “Eagle” on the tires’ sidewall will be replaced by the Honor and Remember logo on all Cup, Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series tires at Charlotte Motor Speedway this week, as is part of the industry-wide effort known as “NASCAR Salutes.”
Honor and Remember is a national organization based out of Virginia that has a mission to “perpetually recognize the sacrifice of America’s military fallen service members and their families,” according to its website. The organization recognizes fallen military personnel from all wars or conflicts, and with those from all branches of service. They do so primarily by dedicating the specially designed Honor and Remember flag, which is intended to fly continuously as a tangible and visible reminder to all Americans of the lives lost in defense of our national freedoms.

Goodyear quote – Stu Grant, Goodyear’s general manager of global race tires: “This is a special weekend for the sport, as a part of the ‘NASCAR Salutes’ initiative on Memorial Day weekend. We will feature the ‘Honor and Remember’ logo on the sidewall of our tires as we pay tribute to our fallen soldiers who fought for our freedoms and ability to race in this great sport.”

I found this incredibly interesting. It’s crazy Jeff Gordon completed the career Crown Jewel achievement…in only his 4th season. Another stat that illustrates his level of dominance in the 90’s

Do you know how to find it on you tube on Monday?
Yes, If lap top or desk top open you tube search Nascar and look around. If you have a streaming service or satellite like DISH service on a smart TV, there is a you tube channel listed, search Nascar.
Normally the whole race is there or you can do the 17 to 20 minute versions of the race.

Now that NASCAR has decided that its races are no longer "must see TV" I'll be able to spend more time with the family after watching the Indy 500.

More people have Amazon prime than cable so by putting the race on Amazon more people have access to it than if it was on cable so I'm not sure what you mean by that.

Do they? I don’t think that most people who have Prime actually use it for live tv. Heck…most people probably don’t even know NASCAR is on there.

I don't have Prime and I won't be getting it. My favorite race day will be without one ace.
Same here. I am burnt out on buying every new service.

I discussed TV deals recently with a friend and his wife does the bills and he didn't know what he paid.

He basically gets anything he wants to see, and as we were talking she informed him that they spent about $300 per month with all the different services.

I will not do that.

I am confused, what's the four crown jewels?
Is there a time frame like winning them all in a single season?
or a career?
I posted the same thing earlier except I made sure the 4 crown jewels were shown. It's posted over at the random Nascar thread if that helps.

I had figured three of them, but I didn’t know the Southern 500 was considered a crown jewel. I assumed Indianapolis was a crown jewel, but perhaps it shouldn’t be in NASCAR. The Indy 500 is the real crown jewel of that track,

I'll let @Greg explain what I mean by that . . .
