Watching the camera in Larson’s car…he’s keeping pace in 4th gear, downshifts to 3rd and loses it. Don’t understand why the downshift there. Oh well, a calm trip to Charlotte. Retire the 17 gear, suit up the 5.

Those steering wheels are very crowded. Could he have downshifted in error?

Doesn’t Larson have an option to do this next year, I thought it was a 3 year deal

Would not be surprised to see pit road speed changed for next year.

The Indy 500 is about 90% of my yearly Indy consumption. That being said, who are the Cup equivalents of DeFrancesco and Harvey? I get the impression they’re underdogs and the alternate strategy is intriguing.

I’m struggling to think of comparisons but they would definitely both be big upsets. DeFrancesco never even won a NXT (Xfinity) race, spent an unspectacular two years with Andretti before finding himself out of a ride last year and returning full-time this year with Rahal. Harvey had a pretty promising career going before he got concussed at Texas a few years ago, and his career petered out from there. He’s a pit reporter with FOX now and does the 500 as a one-off with a one-off team.

That really makes me want Harvey to win!
