Viva Mexico 250 Pre-Race Thread.

BBS of America makes the Cup car wheels I believe. Aero Race Wheels used to make the Xfinity wheels years ago, I don't know if they still are or not.
Aero Race Wheels was a major supplier of NASCAR’s rims starting on November 2nd, 1997. There were others, but they were not as prevalent. However, NASCAR’s official website no longer lists Aero Race Wheels as a primary supplier. As of 2022, BBS of America Incorporated has become their latest and NASCAR’s only wheel supplier.
BBS’ origins go back to the Black Forest of Germany, where amateur racer Heinrich Baumgartner and Klaus Brand founded the company in 1970. The company set up a branch in the United States in 1983, in Braselton, Georgia near the Road Atlanta track.

Their motorsport department has not only supplied wheels for NASCAR, but also IMSA, IndyCar, Grand Am, and Trans Am.

The crowd will cheer regardless but bringing in a Mexican personality/celebrities can help bring more eyes to the event.
I would think there will be plenty there. When the cameras roll the celebrities appear. It's magic or something. Pretty sure there will be a Spanish station broadcasting the races.

Maybe I'm an outlier in this age of social media but I have never once decided to watch an event based on which celebs who aren't participating will only be seen for a handful of seconds.

A little help, please. I've been looking for a graphic of the track layout as it will be run by the NASCAR teams. I can find a few but none with the turns numbered, that indicate where the S/F line and pits are, or what portion of the track is inside the stadium.

Thanks in advance.

and he bites!

Because there’s countless Mexican celebrities/personalities that could have done it.
Well you’re not wrong but Cup having its first race there and having arguably the one of the greatest cup drivers alive handle pre race isn’t a bad idea, it’s like “here’s a living legend from our sport”. I think the fans showing up are for the current drivers and stars of the sport as well as for NASCAR itself. I don’t think they’re going if just say Adrian Fernandez was there or Julio Cesar Chavez came by,they’re there to see our form of racing.

This just dropped, 17 minutes long. They are saying that inside of the stadium is set up to be action packed, narrow and technical. Longest straight in Nascar.

I think he has a valid point, but the unknown is that other networks will be doing their thing also. Mexico, South America, Europe. Japan? I would guess there will be some of that happening.

Pockrass, Gluck, and Matt stuck in a rainstorm on a track tour bus, blocked by the Xfinity haulers after turn one lol. Chastain makes an appearance late in the clip, cracks a pretty good joke.

It would've been great if they ran the full Peraltada corner instead of the stadium section. While the atmosphere in Foro Sol seems great on TV, that section is super slow and rather boring.

The Peraltada is a much cooler piece of track, but skipping the stadium section would also forfeit a ton of ticket revenue for the promoters. That arena will probably be packed like it always is for F1 and even Formula E.

I’m not sure the Peraltada is even in full safe working condition as is. I think it’s still concrete barriers, so even FE runs an alternate route through the stadium to slow speeds before taking the whole corner.
