WNBA 2025

Big ups once again to Alyssa Thomas, who finished with yet another triple-double in a Phoenix win over Golden State yesterday. She had 13 points, 12 boards, and 16 assists. The 16 assists broke the previous franchise record for assists in a game.

Atlanta beat NY today. Sabrina Ionescu didn't play due to a foot injury. Coach Brondello said she'll hopefully be back next week.

Odyssey Sims has a groin injury. Thankfully, it's apparently not a serious injury, and she's likely to play in the game against Minnesota tonight.

I swear, HB, you watch basketball with the biggest chip on your shoulder. It's wild. I've never seen anything like it. :lol2:

It was hard to recognize the Indiana team tonight. They played better than what I would have expected. Their lack of togetherness really showed though on the defensive end, I wish Lexie would make more 3 attempts, she passes some up.

Paige got the Caitlin Clark special tonight.

Glad to see Phee back for Minnesota. She had a great game, as usual.

I did a double-take when I saw Aerial Powers's name in the box score for Indiana from yesterday's game. They signed her to a 7-day hardship contract after Golden State waived her (shocker) before I even knew she was there. She's one of my favorites from my 2K days a few years ago. ^_^

Aerial is a baller, a vet who won a title with Washington a few years back. Good shooter/scorer who's always gonna bring the energy and effort on both ends of the floor. She hasn't played much over the last couple of years due to injuries.

Off the court, she's one of my people, a gamer. She either streams or used to stream on Twitch, and I've watched a few of her slice of life YouTube vlogs. Regardless of whether or not Indy picks her up for the rest of the season, it's good to see her again! ❤️

W!

Aliyah Boston went supernova.

Odyssey Sims, Jesus Christ. I see why she’s Ms. Reliable.

Big game from Kelsey MVP.

Aerial Powers and Lexie Hull crashed the boards.

This league ain’t ready for this squad with a healthy Caitlin.

I give Indy credit for not lying down and quitting no matter who's available to play on any given day. They're well coached, and if you beat them, the win was hard-earned.

Stephanie White is a hell of a coach.

She gets a lot of crap from the Church of Caitlin but she’s handled enormous adversity.

Interesting stats.

Personally, I think this shows how much stats can be deceiving.

Caitlin Clark impacts the game in a big way even on her worst nights. Angel Reese, IMO, does not. Caitlin Clark elevates her team. Angel Reese does not. Caitlin Clark can take a bottom barrel team to the top, as she did in her rookie season and at Iowa before that. Angel Reese has to have a superteam around her.

Ehh, that's your opinion to which you are obviously entitled.

Mine is that, having not seen the game during which this graphic was shown and having not heard any conversation that happened behind it, this is merely a comparison between two of the best bigs to ever do it and an up and coming young big who aims to follow in their footsteps - nothing more, nothing less. It has nothing to do with CC or comparison between her and Reese. That's a whole different conversation.

Fixed that for myself.

The fact that Alyssa Thomas plays this game at such an elite, record-breaking level with two torn labrums is just...I don't even know what other adjectives to compliment her with at this point. It feels like they all fall short of doing her justice. I've never seen a player like AT before. I love her. ❤️

I think they'll probably still pick Phee for MVP in the end, but both A'ja Wilson and Alyssa Thomas have made strong cases for themselves. A'ja's had some insane individual performances this year, and Vegas has finally gotten its act together. AT has had plenty of incredible performances of her own, too, and is breaking her own WNBA record for triple-doubles.

I say both, if they can keep them. If not, whoever they can hold onto.

The Fever will need to make some difficult choices when everyone is healthy. Granted the choices may not need to be made until next season but it will still be difficult.

As wild as the previous offseason was with regard to player movement, the upcoming offseason will likely be insane, since pretty much all of the vets will be free agents. I don't envy any of the GMs and powers that be right now.

Also, last I heard, the players and the league were pretty far apart with regard to a new CBA for next season. Could be some crazy times coming up.

The Fever have 9 guards on their current roster. Obviously, they can't keep them all. Who do you think they will try to keep.

I have absolutely no idea what Indy will do with their roster. It's way too early for me to call with this likely crazy free agency period coming.

If I was Indy's GM and somehow managed to keep all of their current forwards/bigs and then obviously kept CC, Kelsey, Lexie, and Sophie, then I could keep two of the guards picked up via hardship contracts or whatever to make it 12 players for next season.

In that scenario, I would try keep two of the trio of Odyssey, Aari, and Aerial. I think you either keep Aerial to back up Kelsey, Sophie, and Lexie and then one of the two PGs, or you keep both Odyssey and Aari for the insurance if CC gets hurt and has to sit out again.

Phee and Minnesota were lights out against Dallas yesterday, which isn't surprising, but man, the StudBudz were swishin' and dishin'. They combined for 35 points and 19 assists, 20 and 10 of which were Natisha Hiedeman's. Let's go, Tee! ^_^

Indiana lost by 6 points last night. Kelsey did her part by scoring 29 points. The most points in the game by a player of either team.
Kelsey is definitely a strong MVP.

Another week, more Angel Reese drama.

And it sounds like a lot of executives think the drama she brings might be a bigger negative than her on court impact is as a positive.

Angel Reese's Off-The-Court Behavior Has Officially Been Called Out

As usual with The Spun, this is a clickbait headline, with nothing even remotely controversial in the actual piece.

They couldn't even specify what exactly she has done off the court that has been dramatic and horrible enough to be called out and even admitted that, as of this moment, she hasn't gotten into any trouble off the court. The most they could say is that she has a "highly popular Spotify podcast and is very opinionated on a number of topics." :lol2: 🤦‍♂️

You obviously don't have to like Reese - no one does - but don't fall for this stuff, man.

They’re citing a Front Office Sports piece.

Obviously there’s smoke there because there have been vague references for years about her being a locker room cancer, going back to her days in Maryland. LSU was even warned that she’d be a locker room cancer.
