2025 Italian Grand Prix

I was pleasantly surprised to see Ferrari looking strong in all the practice sessions at their home race. It was also great to see their former driver, Carlos Sainz, putting in impressive times for Williams on Friday. The upgrades for both teams seem to be paying off so far, and I would love to see Ferrari deliver a big result in front of the Tifosi after the tough weekend they had at Zandvoort.

Red Bull seems to have found something.
From Reddit, top of rear wing trimmed off.

That's a lot cleaner than what they did last year whacking up the wing in the middle of the weekend.

Here you can see they just chopped up the back edge of the wing until they got what they wanted.

So many Mickey Mouse corners at this track honestly. Especially for boats of a car like these current F1 regs.

Been a while since Max last won one of these. No real other takeaways from this race. This one was boring af.

I just kinda expected more out of the 2025 season. When a technical rules cycle ends in racing the last season usually tends to be really good as all the loopholes in the rules have been closed, the best solutions have been copied by all the teams and no big upgrades are made as everyone focuses on the next season. After the second half of 2024, I was hyped for 2025. This season turned out to be quite a letdown though.

This race took 75 minutes to run.
These races need to be better, not shorter.
They could easily have run the entire race on the medium, what a joke.

Doesn’t help that the championship battle just has no juice to it. Norris and Piastri have zero aura and the team infantilizing the two of them with their approach to team tactics/orders is just sickening to watch. It’s probably the least intriguing legitimate title fight I’ve ever witnessed.

When I saw the McLaren switch-a-Roo , this guy
best summed up my thoughts.

I mean, it was Hungary, but in reverse and without the gaslighting of the wall. Lando did everything right, even risked the undercut. Yet, the pit stop messed up a practically spotless race from himself. Remember, he gapped Piastri by like 7 seconds at one point.

May not be a popular decision, but it was the right decision.

I read on Planet F1` the team previously agreed on something like this, so even though I don't like it, you have to honor agreements.

I hope the championship does not turn on those three points.

I agree. I wasn't a fan of the move in Hungary last year but if they did it back then they had to do it on Sunday.
