With two races remaining in the Cup season, it appears that any player outside of, say, the Top Ten in the leader board has been mathematically eliminated from any chance of winning the game's championship.

Among those that remain in contention, there are several pick combinations left in each player's stable of drivers.

Current leader @kkfan91 has only Ross Chastain left to go along with a "C Group" driver while both @LewTheShoe, @JJ_14, and @Magicmiler each have two "A Group" drivers to chose from.

Also in contention are @Mr. E, @Conover, and @hmmm298 as each of them have an "A Group" driver remaining but, like @kkfan, will have to reach into the "C Group" for one of the last two races.

Interestingly, four of the players mentioned still have William Byron left.

Meanwhile, a local band is busy practicing in anticipation of the season ending Awards Banquet. :jamming:

From the Official Game Rules:
15 - After the 36th and final points paying race, the game's championship will be awarded to the player with the fewest total points, that is, the player whose driver picks over the course of the season had the best average finishing position.

16 - In the event of a points tie among two or more players atop the leader board at season's end, the game's championship will be awarded to the player (among those players) that had the most first place picks.

17 - In the event of a points tie, and a tie for most first place picks, among two or more players atop the leader board at season's end, the game's championship will be awarded to the player (among those players) that had the most top five picks.

18 - In the event of a points tie, and a tie for most first place picks and top five picks, among two or more players atop the leader board at season's end, the game's championship will be awarded to the player (among those players) that had the most top ten picks.

Since there are only 2 races remaining and about 36-37 cars per race, it appears that only the top 8 is still mathematically in the championship hunt.

Man if I hadn’t have missed a pick in one of the races I’d be a contender

Go Elliott! ( I am still chasing the dream of finishing in the top twenty)

I went with Blaney thinking Byron was going to be a popular pick. I really need a good finish from Blaney to have a chance at winning it all.

And as I type this, a caution comes out. Strategy could be beneficial for Blaney.

Congratulations to @DC76, the recipient of the "Highest Finishing Pick" award following the first place finish of his pick, William Byron, in the xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway.

In nothing short of an amazing season for @kkfan91 which saw him submit his driver picks for the each and every race prior to the Daytona 500, he solidified his position at the top of the leader board with one race remaining thanks to the fourth place finish of his pick, Ross Chastain.

As it stands now only @LewTheShoe and @JJ_14 have any chance of toppling @kkfan91 from that position and, with each trailing by over thirty points, that chance appears to be extremely slim.

For the third consecutive race, membership in the Top Five Club took on a new member as @hmmm298 moved into fifth place when he pushed @Mr. E, a one-time championship contender, down to sixth.

The "Most Upward Movement" award was shared by @Hawaii808 and @Greg when the finishes of their picks enabled each of them to gain four spots in the standings, although their numbers in the "Points Behind the Leader" column remained relatively the same.

The "Slipping and Sliding" award landed in the hands of @Clutch thanks to the next-to-last place finish of his pick, Riley Herbst, that cost our favorite Kiwi five spots in the standings.

Hold onto your hats kids, not only will the upcoming race at Phoenix result in a possible first-time NASCAR Cup Champion, the NASCAR Pick 'Em game is sure to have its own first-time champion and recipient of a Championship Plaque.
