Several weeks ago myself and several of my friends were contacted via email and telephone about priority ticket purchase for the June 2026 race here in San Diego. Using my credit card I sent $400.00. Asking if I decided not to purchase tickets I was told my money would be returned. All it would take would be a simple phone call. For a variety of reasons I do not want tickets. At this point I’ve made several phone calls to the person who processed my payment. She doesn’t answer and doesn’t call back.

My Visa statement indicates payment received by “NASCAR EVENT PROMOTIONS, 800-438-7467 FL.” One assumes this is a NASCAR operations or an entity hired by NASCAR to facilitate ticket sales.

I have no doubt NASCAR is legit. I also believe it would not be pleased with this. BTW, 3 of my friends are experiencing this exact problem. I would like to make someone at NASCAR aware of this, The NASCAR website is no help. If anyone has NASCAR contact information pls reply to this. Each day that goes by, this smells worse.

Contact your credit card company and explain the situation. If possible, ask for the fraud department.

Googling the phone number 800-438-7467 shows multiple results pointing to a building design company in San Fernando CA. No doubt both the number and the 'NASCAR EVENT PROMOTIONS' text are false information provided during the electronic transaction.

If anybody calls me to sale something I usually hang up. If I think they are legit I tell them to mail me the invoice or info and that is usualy ends it without recievung any mail. I never give them my adress either

If I think they are legit
On the rare occasions I think they're legit, I ask for a number to call them back at. Then I Google it. If the number appeared legit, I wait a couple of days. By then if I remember I was interested, I've usually lost the number anyway. ;)

It's 2025; nobody contacting you cold by phone, text, e-mail, or otherwise is legitimately trying to make a sale, and I'm starting to get suspicious of those girls with the cookies in front of Walmart.

The tracks do send out emails about tickets to upcoming events. The phone call would worry me immensely. I think you should definitely contact your credit card provider. Also, keep a close eye on your account.

I've received many legitimate calls from both NASCAR/ ISC and SMI. But these are always for renewals of existing tickets. They know my existing seats and discounts.

I've never received a cold call offering me tickets to a track I've never visited or seats I've never sat in. Yeah, that would give me pause.

Oh, and ticket money is never refunded. NASCAR and SMI wlll offer credit toward other races, tracks, or dates, but you're not getting money back, even on legitimate ticket sales. The promise if a refund is evidence enough of a scam.

Surprise! Surprise! I found someone to answer a phone. She said my phone number was on file. She also told me I wasn’t getting call-backs because the person I originally dealt with was on a plane. Said she could help. I asked her if her employer is “NASCAR EVENT PROMOTIONS.” She wouldn’t say, but said she would help. About an hour ago I received an email saying a refund was processed, but it will take 10 days get it. I’m holding my breath. Assuming I do, I think NASCAR needs to take a look-see at how it does business.
