so what is going to be the new points system?

Versant as an independent spinoff from Comcast can buy, sell or merge with other networks more easily than they could when part of Comcast. Who knows what direction they will go.

This is the objectively correct answer. There are no alternative answers which are valid because this is the only one. We can argue about that even and it changes nothing about whether or not this is true. We've even discussed it already at length on this forum with you, @HoneyBadger, indicating your displeasure with this arrangement and the negative implications of NASCAR being cross marketed with the WNBA and PGA as Versant has openly stated their intentions to do.
 
Just the fact that he says it, knows it and accepts it I can move on with it. His losses in whatever version of the post season system nascar used is why I hated it at the time. It’s like the closure I needed to move on . Signed a fan who says Jeff Gordon is still his racing hero.

I don't love that he disappeared until he was stroked by the Hall. I don't love that he speaks for "the fans." I think that Mark is fueled by attention, and overestimates his reach. I don't love that he says he is fighting for something, and "we" (not the capitalized WE) won. It is hard to watch. I just want him to go away....but I doubt that he will....already started the full season championship crusade to gain more approval. For the life of me, I don't understand why he cares so much about the championship....it's not like a change in the system is going to get him his.....I also don't like the way he got after Joey when he bumped him out of the way for his first win.....I don't love the higher moral plane narrative that he has used his whole career----didn't like it with MTJ either.

Appreciate the validation on my Felon crap.....NASCAR hasn't gotten a hold on what "fans" are thinking in forever. That is why we are where we are...but all of a sudden, Mark has that figured out. It annoys me. Not sure that I have taken any shots at him personally....just don't like the way he shows up these days. Nothing to see here really. Not sure that I give three ****s about what the Felon did, but I give several ****s about his power and influence in this sport which was noticeably absent (as was Gibbs) when Denny et al. decided to make things better for them. The Felon also brags about others developing drivers for him. He's in bed with Jim, and has screwed him royally. Nice guy.

Mark wasn’t the only former driver railing against the championship format. Sure he was the loudest, but Dale Jr was taking digs subtly at it on his podcast the last year. There are also current drivers that disliked the format as well and made that known. It seems like you’re advocating for a system that screwed one of YOUR drivers royally last year. I might be missing the plot here but from my view, you’re trolling just to troll because a great deal of fans like Mark Martin and you liked the clown show playoff system that he spoke up against. Mark had it figured out better in the last year since he started his crusade against the format better than the NASCAR Honchos’s have in the last 22 years or so. I think it’s commendable that former drivers like Mark speak up to try to get the sport in a better place than when they were at the peak of their powers racing each week.

I don't think the system screwed Denny.....in fact, I feel like Denny's approach and domination until the end is proof that if you put this sport in the driver's hands....and they want to work and are talented enough, they can be successful even in spite of an unreasonable system. While NASCAR was given fuel for change over the ending, it could have easily gone the other way and proven that drivers and teams are capable of great things in a pressure situation......and I really don't care about which system was chosen. Have gone on record here saying that I would just like fans to be happy. I think that Mark is in love with the attention....and probably doesn't understand that there are likely many fans who don't care and don't rant on social media....kinda like me.....who also understand that there will be bitching about this system when Chase Elliott doesn't win it....or they will move on to complaining about the car. Trolling.....total BS and whatever.....I think that as much could be said who lap up what Mark says like a kitty to milk because he is who he is. I couldn't care less that he is a former driver. He doesn't pay my bill to get to the race....and while you mention Junior...I think his approach was much more appropriate....and he reach is a hell of a lot farther than Mark's.
