2026 Nascar Craftsman Truck Series

F****** nailed it. I can appreciate Cleetus' is enthusiasm, and he deserves his following. But that shouldn't be what allows him to enter an event like this. I feel like it delegitimizes NASCAR racing as an elite Motorsport in America, or frankly, legitimate one.

There's already been years of complaints about the broadcast on the playoff system and the illegitimacy of NASCAR as a pure motorsport. This kind of stuff does no favors. This may be a sucky thing to say, but he also acts like a cartoon character.

Now if we're talking other professional race car drivers who have had success in other Series without having experience? I think that's cool and I think that's good for the sport. At the end of the day Motorsports are niche, and NASCAR is just never going to pull the general sports fan like the NFL, or the NBA. And that's perfectly okay.
To me Cleetus in the truck race was legitimate. How was it not? He competed in races in the ARCA series and turned competitive laps in truck for a nascar test at Rockingham. Seems more legit than what some others were allowed to do

FWIW, I agree with @jaqua19.1 and @Charlie Spencer here. Cleetus, Travis Pastrana, and Hallie Deegan too for that matter, make Nascar look like a carnival promoter. .... these Youtube stunters give Nascar a carni vibe and it's not a good look
For the record, I'm not debating the right of any of these people to sit in a race car / Truck. Skill, fame, invitation, or checkbook, there are plenty of ways to get a seat.

The big build up for a guy that likes racecars towing trailers, or a guy that jumps out of an airplane without a parachute... these Youtube stunters give Nascar a carni vibe and it's not a good look. JMO.
If you don't keep up, you appear lost.

I did nor intentionally try to troll, but I cannot find the original post. So its either fake news or a surprise that got out early. Sorry
You could be right about it. :idunno: I wouldn't put it past Kaulig/Dodge. There were rumors months ago that Tony was going to drive full time. That turned out being partly true in the end.

I just saw that the trucks we’re going to ST Petes for the first time.

I know that track is narrow Do people think it’s too narrow for the trucks?
