Who brings more eyes to NASCAR? Cleetus or MJ?

Thirsty drivers….if I was a successful cup driver in the prime of my life in my 20’s I’d be hitting up Ella Langley instead of this Sabrina person. But that’s just me.

Cleetus is a pimple on Michael Jordan’s ass. Jordan is known around the world, Cleetus to known to American young people. No comparison.
That's true. Even 30 years after his career pretty much everyone known who Jordan is. Not just in the states but worldwide.

However, do people really start watching NASCAR races just because Jordan owns a team?

Folks that watch Cleetus on YouTube do have some basic interest in cars but might not have been introduced to professional racing yet. Many of them are potential NASCAR fans.

Different people, Sabrina the teen witch was Clarissa (old Nickelodeon show). Carpenter is a modern pop star. She (Sabrina Carpenter) got Monsignor Jamie from our Lady of mount caramel church in Williamsburg Brooklyn in a lot of trouble 4 or 5 years ago.

I wonder how many new eyes the monsignor would bring to NASCAR?

She’s looks like Hillary Clinton if you ask me.

Just looked on Youtube and Cleetus had 508k views on his in car camera for the O'Reilly race. Kinda hard to argue with those tangible results

Was she the same one Byron was inviting to races etc at one point? I can’t remember. And Speaking of her and Hocevar, that sounds like a WWE tag team. The Hurricane Witches.

I've wondered something similar. How many true stick and ball MJ fans have crossed over to Nascar because MJ is a team owner. It seems a little far fetched. Pretty sure the fans who were both B'bal and Nascae were pleased, but I wonder about stick and ball fans flocking in droves to watch Nascar. The ratings aren't showing that.
I have my doubts too, but on the other hand at our Easter gathering yesterday, I had two relatives who normally don't even mention. NASCAR ask me about all the success 23XI has been having so far this year. So I guess it's better than nothing.

Just wondering what age group were they in?

I see the mainstream media picking up a couple stories about MJ being a team owner, but the problem I see is does anyone under 35 actually watch mainstream media anymore? I remember as a kid watching sportscenter every morning before school to see what happened the night before. I'm not even sure that show exists anymore. IMO if its not on an app, some form of social media, or streaming on something like YouTube you're missing out on most people under 40. I spend 150 plus nights a year in a hotel and I can't tell you the last time I turned on a TV in a hotel room.

I see it this way...the same but different. Cleetus has his 4 million followers and they will look into his NASCAR activities now. MJ's influence will be a longer burn and I think that has the potential to have a big/bigger impact. Short game: Cleetus. Long game: MJ.

I guess I see it the opposite way. I don't see the stick and ball fans that MJ brings over staying for the long term. Motorsports has too much of a gap for them. Most of Cleetus fans are typically interested in cars or something like that and IMO will be easier to keep around for the long term.

Who knows? Maybe I'm wrong? It's happened before, just ask my wife...

I think the endless stick n ball talking heads shows would be mentioning MJ on their shows, so a lot of them would be getting info. Hard to tell if that motivates anybody who watches those shows but I'm sure some of them might start watching. I don't think I've seen anybody wearing a Nascar MJ shirt, some 23XI's though but I do see plenty of Cleetus shirts when he is racing. But the bottom line is that both of them are good for Nascar.

Did Joe Gibbs bring NFL fans to Nascar. Im not sure, I was already a Nascar, NFL fan. Im sure there was a few Redskins fans watching the Daytona 500 pulling for Dale Jarrett. After that they didn't watch it again till the next year. Before the 2000’s Nascar was more of a motor-heads sport , fast cars , smell of burning tires and racing fuel. Back in the 60’s 70’s 80’s and 90’s people hopped up there own cars, nascar and NHRA was the best of shade tree mechanics Manufactures ment a lot more back then, the rivalry’s where great. We didnt need gimmicks to watch racing. You either liked it or you didnt.

Plenty of people still working on their own cars these days if one is paying attention. One of many on the web, Cleetus gives away three turbos every video. Makes calls, most people know which size they need. Easy fairly cheap way to add plenty more power to a modern engine.

Sorry, but nothing like it was. Drag Strips are closing all the time. Growing up thats all we did. Friday night test and tune, Saturday points race and Sunday was Special events race. The race track was the place to be. We would spend all weekend at the track or garage. I dont know your age but im guessing its under 40. All I see now is Street takeovers. Looks like a bunch of fools trying to kill eachother. As for the turbos I had 2 of the a 86 Grand National and a 87 T Type. Both would each 5.0s for lunch

I assumed you could relate. Late 70s till early 2000’s was a different era. People at track racing cars = people working on the performance of there car. It was more popular back then. Thats all Im saying. Now all we care about is TV ratings and what cleb owns a car. I remember we would go to Cup races and get chills just listening to the cars idle. It was all about Fast cars.

Lol whatever man.

Yeah it's hard to say he doesn’t make a sizeable impact on the sport
It’s an impact now. But what if you know….he isn’t good and rides around in 30th place every weekend? Will that sizable impact still be there or will the masses find the next flavor of the month?
