why not give out points to the top 10 every 40 or 50 laps,dont stop the race for these.i think that would get more people fighting to get up front

Go back to a five lug rim so it takes longer to change tires than it takes to fill the fuel cell.

Or you could just fix the car so you don't have to rely on gimmicks.

The car punches too big a hole in the air while it also flips too easily and is way stiffer and deforms less on impact than prior versions. It's just not good for this kind of racing. You could take away all the gimmicks and stages and it'll still be the same thing. Until the cars can get out of line and make moves without a train behind them or you want to reward winning with the most points, nothing anyone does matters. It'll just be about "execution" - saving gas and making good pit stops where just enough gas is filled into the car and not a drop more. It's a little like the current iteration of F1.

How is that a gimmick?
=If= slowing the tire change is the solution, it's cheaper to eliminate a tire changer or the carrier, than to switch wheels.

Mandating what is done on pit road is a gimmick. If the car raced good and you could pass no one would care how long they spent on pit road because they could go back out and make it up. Right now tires don't wear and the aero package makes it too hard to pass. The guys that started up front at the beginning of the last stage finished the race up front because no one can pass
You are not pulling out of line all by yourself at 200 MPH and passing a line of cars, you are falling back until you find an opening. Two cars nose to tail will always be faster than one all things being equal. It is a law of physics, not some fairy tale.

But in previous cars you could build a run with a couple cars, thats not the case with this car, it has too much drag

People can watch the O'Reilly Series or Trucks and compare.
Pit road has always been subject to regulations. Are limits on crewmen, positions in the box, entry and exit limits, or work that can be performed 'gimmicks'?

I like how a chart showing the same two guys running side by side trading the lead is being shown as evidence that, contrary to literally everyone online and everyone's eyes, Cup cars can get out of line and make moves.

Right, looking at charts is a better way to assess the race than actually watching it, I guess.
Once again, the laws of physics say nobody is getting outside all by themselves and passing the pack at 200 MPH on a plate track. In fact if they aren't in the draft, the pack will drive off and lap them.
