Races at South Boston have been postponed until Sunday 4/17 which includes the third NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Series. George Brunnhoelzl has won the first two races and is looking to extend his win streak. Missing this race will be Burt Myers because of injuries he received at Ace Speedway (south of SB in NC) while practicing in a super modified. The throttle stuck and Burt slammed the second turn wall extremely hard and broke three ribs and a punctured lung. Burt is still in the hospital and in good spirits. Lee Jeffreys will be driving for Burt in SB.

There were plenty of good hits at Ace on Friday.
Were you there? Only got to see Burt's wreck on facebook and it was very, very choppy.

Got word that Burt was still in the hospital with a chest tube. Will probably spend the next couple of days in the hospital. I know he is chomping at the bit to get out and race again. This is the first time Burt has had extensive damage to his body and those of us who know him believe that this will take out some of the daring he is known to show.

I was not at Ace, Race22 did have someone there.

racing at South Boston was awesome. K&N Race was great, modifieds were okay. Moffit was looking like he was going to dominate again but ended up hitting a car that was stopped on the track just after turn 4. Dont know how he didnt get on the brakes in time. really seemed like there would have been plenty of time to see him straight ahead from his windshield. Hate to see that happen, but really glad to see Sergio finally get his win.

Just saw this article. http://www2.neweraprogress.com/spor...ecovery-includes-trip-south-boston-ar-979202/

apparently burt was actually at the track today.

Ted Christopher won in the modified race. Sergio Pena ran well at Irwindale last year, had terrible luck in the regular season last year, but he finally got his K&N win at SoBo. Really glad to see it. Was a great day of racing.
