Who Do You Think You Are?

All those shows were canceled this year and the list might get longer in the next couple days. I was shocked they canceled Americas most wanted.

Criminal Minds and Outlaw are the only ones I watch. Not surprised that they were cancelled.

Gonna miss Detroit 1-8-7. We really liked that show, especially Anthony Imperiole and James McDaniel. The rest, meh, never watched any of them.

I don't watch any of those shows. In fact, the only network show that I watch is NCIS. When they cancel that show, I'll only watch network TV for the local and national news. Sorry that any of you are losing something you like. Its not the first time. The last two shows that I liked that were canceled didn't even have an ending. Las Vegas and The Unit.

I'm disappointed about The Event. Loved that show, which got better as the season went on. I'm sure I'll be disappointed with the season finale, especially knowing it's not coming back.

One episode of law and Order:LA was all I could take. Haven't seen any of the others listed.
Discovery and History channels are on 90% of the time, Nat Geo too.

NBC hasn't really had a hit in years.

Damn wasted my time again watching a show I liked, last year it was Flash Forward now this one.

Really? The Office? 30 Rock? Hell, The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice, as ridiculously stupid as they are, bring in numbers.

And moving Chuck to Friday Nights will improve ratings for that show... it would do well if it wasn't against House, Dancing with the Stars, How I Met Your Mother, Rules of Engagement and Monday Night Football.

To be honest, I've never heard of a lot of the shows on the list. Don't watch much network TV, save for the late night shows. I like Mad Men/Breaking Bad on AMC type shows.

BASTARDS! I guess they just don't want it to do well anymore. No mater how hard they try over the years, Friday night shows don't bring any viewers.

I liked this show too

And buckaroo, I totally agree with you about The Unit and Las Vegas! I was peeved that they didn't conclude those shows the right way. I guess they thought they were coming back the following season so they didn't plan ahead.

I'm glad to see that Castle isn't on the list. Yet. I figured that the way they ended the season last night, that it could go either way as just the season finale or the series finale. Will keep my fingers crossed that it comes back next season.

Neither of those shows bring in lots of viewers. The get nominated for Emmys and stuff but as far as lots of viewers they don't.

I've watched one show from that list, and that's it. When I finally do get a hold of the remote, it's usually sports.
So, wake me when the NFL or some other sport starts cancelling games.

Oops.

You may not have to wait long for that to happen:D

The same thing to October Road. I loved that show.

I love Blue Bloods and The Mentalist.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Hours after “America’s Most Wanted” was canceled, a small, passionate campaign emerged online to save the Saturday night staple that allowed anyone with a television set to become part of a nationwide manhunt.

The show has been rescued before. In 1996, an outpouring of support from fans, politicians and law enforcement compelled Fox executives to reconsider after they announced they were taking the show off the air, and a handful of Facebook pages aim to recapture that groundswell of support.

“Criminals all over America will be rejoicing if AMW is cancelled,” said Jim Sitton, who credits the show for catching the man suspected of killing his 6-year-old daughter and three other relatives on Thanksgiving 2009.

Sitton created the Save AMW page because he believed he owed it to the program and its host, John Walsh.

The show helped capture Paul Michael Merhige, who disappeared after the shootings. Merhige was found after a couple who owned a Long Key, Fla., motel saw a promotion for the show during a January 2010 college football game and recognized him as a guest.

Hours later, Merhige was arrested. His trial is set for later this year.

On Tuesday, a day after the announcement that the show is being canceled, Sitton’s page had 500 followers. Hundreds of others had “liked” or commented on other websites and pages dedicated to saving the show.

“I think somehow, some way America needs the service that John Walsh provides,” Sitton said. “He can bring the heat on criminals like nobody else.”

The show says it has helped catch more than 1,150 fugitives — including 17 of the FBI’s most wanted — and find more than 50 missing children.

“With his help, we’ve made a lot of arrests and taken a lot of bad people off the street,” said Louie McKinney, a former acting director of the U.S. Marshal’s Service and a special investigator with the FBI. “I often said in the Marshal’s Service ‘You can run but you can’t hide.’ That’s what John Walsh did — he made sure that if you committed a crime you’re going to get caught.”

The program has been a great tool for law enforcement, especially as budget cuts trim the number of officers on the streets, said John Parizeau, police chief in Westfield, N.J., an affluent city of 30,000 not far from New York City. His department is down 12 percent in the past two years.

Fox dropped the show in 1996. At that point, the program had assisted in the capture of more than 430 fugitives. The success prompted thousands of fans, law enforcement agencies and the governors of 37 states to bombard the network with letters urging executives to keep the series alive. The FBI even weighed in with a statement saying the show “empowered millions of Americans to safely and constructively combat crime.”

This time, though, the FBI’s statement sounded more like a heartfelt goodbye.

“Few television shows have aired for so long. Even fewer have provided such a worthy public service, or have made such a lasting impact on the American public,” said Michael P. Kortan, an FBI spokesman. “John and his team have always understood the power of the people in helping to bring criminals to justice. Their tenacity, their unwavering dedication to victims of crime and violence, and their commitment to law enforcement will be missed.”

The show started when Walsh heard about David James Roberts, a convicted rapist who, while out on parole, killed a young Indiana family. A year later, Roberts abducted a woman and her infant, and sexually assaulted the woman before leaving the 5-month-old boy on the side of the road. The baby died of exposure.

Roberts was convicted, but escaped in 1986 while being taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Walsh’s 6-year-old son, Adam, was kidnapped and kidnapped and murdered in 1981 and the killer was never captured. Walsh saw the Roberts case as a chance to catch a child killer.

By the first commercial break, the show’s hot lines were abuzz with tips. Roberts, who was listed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list, was arrested four days later in Staten Island, N.Y., where he ran a homeless shelter.

“We caught David James Roberts when the FBI couldn’t catch him, and we’ve been doing it ever since,” Walsh said.

The show turns down 50 or so cases each week, Walsh said. Now he questions where police and victims’ families will go when the trail turns cold. In 2008, police closed the Walsh case saying that a deceased drifter, Ottis Toole, had killed the boy.

The network says it will replace the weekly shows with four, two-hour specials throughout the year. Walsh said he hopes those will convince Fox to reinstate the show.

“It’s powerful, important television,” he said. “I hope maybe that public outcry will change Fox’s mind or we’ll do something else.

Who Do You Think You Are?

All those shows were canceled this year and the list might get longer in the next couple days. I was shocked they canceled Americas most wanted.

I'd have to say that I got pretty lucky this year. They usually cancel more shows that I like a lot than they did this year. Who Do You Think You Are was my least favorite of these. It was interesting every now and then depending on who the celebrity was that week.

Human Target was a family favorite. The wife and I really liked Criminal Minds:Suspect Behavior although it could have been much better. The one that really bugs me though is Chase. That was one of the best shows I've seen in years. I pretty much knew it was going to be cancelled after they moved it from Monday to Wednesday to never to Saturday this year. I've never seen that work before.

We've started watching a lot more shows on cable recently. Breakout Kings is great. We also like several summer cable shows like Rizzoli and Isles, The Glades, Covert Affairs, Haven and a few others. They've been running tons of commercials for The Glades already so I know it is coming back. They said last year that Rizzoli and Isles would be back. I don't know about the other two, but I really hope they do come back. Especially Cover Affairs, that is a great show. Piper Perabo is a lot of fun to watch. :growl:

Damn wasted my time again watching a show I liked, last year it was Flash Forward now this one.

I liked both Flash Forward and The Event. I actualy think those shows could of been saved if it wasnt for poor programing by the networks. The Event was off the air for over 3 months and when it returned it only had half the audiance it once had. If I remember correctly Flash Forward had a pretty long off time mid season as well.

Yep they both did the same thing, well maybe NBC didn't learn their lesson the first time. I really thought The Event was a good show, good character development, good plot, and we hadn't even really got to know what that aliens were all about yet. I watch all my shows on On Demand, so I never missed one. That show was one of the few that I watch which are actually on network tv.

What he said, along with VH-1 Classic and CMT Pure Country video channel.

I was into the V,Chase,Outlaw, and The Event. This happens everytime I get into a series. All I have to say is they better not cancel Pretty Little Liers.

If you have netflix, there are plenty of documentaries to choose from, everything from military (no Sasnaks) espionage, secret service and many other subjects. Also thousands of movies to choose from and all can be watched on yout big screen tv

I've been watching Hawaii Five-0, Cheers, Mission Impossible, The World at Was (BBS show from 1974, Ken Burns World War II and many others I even watched an episode of Have Gun Will Travel. There were some great shows back in the day.

America's Most Wanted
Wow I'm really suprised, I'm pretty sure this has been on longer then I've been alive.
The Chicago Code
I'm really disappointed about this it was a really good show. But at least they wrapped up the story arc in the finale more or less I'm satisfied.
Lone Star
Never had a chance since Fox only gave it to episodes
.

Really Fox your killing me with shows I start following. First it was Drive 4 episodes cancelled, then it was Lonestar 2 episodes cancelled, now The Chicago Code one season. I started watching House this year I bet that will be gone next season. I have no idea how the Simpsons has managed to stay on that network for 23 seasons this fall, I mean nothing else makes it past 1 there.

Anyway I'm hoping still that Breakout Kings on A&E gets a 2nd season, and Archer was renewed for season 3 on FX so I still have that.

They Had "My Name Is Earl" and cancled it. It was theit best show.

I like "Last Comic Standing" but the past few season's have went down hill.

I watched "Traffic Light" once and i liked it.

I'd say "AMW" will be picked up by someone else. I dont get to watch it much, but it is a useful show

Seems like Network TV doesn't give shows a real chance, I personally am sick of crime dramas and want more sitcoms.

I have enough drama at work, so when i come home i want something funny. Its hard to get excited about new sitcoms because the networks pull them so quickly.

Watch The Big Bang Theory. Might take some getting used to but it's the best sitcom since Friends imo

No more MSNBC on my lineup -- The Big Bang Theory on CBS is the only network show I can tolerate.

I watch:
The Big Bang Theory (CBS)
True Blood (HBO)
Two and a Half Men (CBS -- not anymore though, Ashton Kutcher is a terrible not funny actor)

The actress who plays Dr. Lisa Cuddy on House, isn't coming back for the eight season. There's also rumors that the eight season will be the last one.
