I'm investigating this as we speak

If you wouldn't mind, let me know what version of browser (Help -> About) you're using and whether or not your pages load slowly

I am using Firefox 9.0.1 and I get slow page loads on threads. I think it has something to do with the javascript, so I'm trying a couple of things now.

IE 7, thinking of going to 8 later today if it'll help. This is the only forum or place on the web that I have a problem with slow loading pages.

FWIW I've tried Firefox and Chrome before, didn't care for either.

Well, IE8 doesn't exhibit the problem for me (as much? hard to tell whether it's this problem, or if IE8 on the computer I'm using is just dog slow), but your mileage may vary.

I recommend upgrading to IE8 at the very least in any case, due to the lack of security fixes in IE7.

How bout now?

I've installed an addon to the forums that moves javascript loading to the end of the page instead of the start of the page

Don't know if this makes a difference but yesterday when I tried to post sometimes a error message would pop up and say the server is not responding, please try again.

I don't know if that's on our side or yours. Was it only happening on posting, or did the error pop up while trying other functions as well?

I have further adjusted the javascript loading, it should now cache properly, and not delay the page at all. If it's still slow, then, well, that wasn't the cause and I'm back to square one. It seems to have fixed the issue for me, though.

If anybody is still experiencing an issue, this may be partially a packet loss problem. If so, it would help to gather some traceroutes.

If you can run a tracert, please do so and send me a conversation with the results.

In Windows XP and up, you can press Win+R (hold Windows key, press R, let go) and enter "cmd" as the program to run, and click OK. In that command prompt that comes up, type tracert racing-forums.com and press enter.

Although yours will look different, it should in general not have a bunch of scattered stars (aside from the first or second hop, which is usually your router and/or modem, like mine above).

Depending on Windows's mood, the alignment of the planets, and your configuration, you might be able to click and drag to draw a highlight box around what it shows, then right-click to copy (it'll then de-highlight everything). Or you might have to right-click, hit Mark (seriously, hit Mark, he started it), THEN you can click and drag to select, then right-click to copy. Or you can just snap a screenshot of it if that's easier.

i split about 50/50 between firefox and chrome. usually have both open at the same time. never use Integrated Exposure. one good thing about firefox and chrome is they both have extensions where you can block elements (like photo's) individually without having to turn off sigs.

I was going to post a thread about this but I saw this one. This forum loads so slow and it freezes all the time before it fully loads. It seems like there a lot of script errors in this site. This is the only site I go to where this happens like this so I know it isnt my computer.
Can anything be done ?

What browser are you using? Have you tried another?
