Richmond race thread

Note to everyone: If Gordon does NOT make the chase, you will wanna leave the room because it's going to get very ugly in here! ;)

Don't worry , they wouldn't have a chase without Gordon.

If he doesn't make it take consolation in him not getting the Kim Bassinger treatment (as in used up for even more than nine and a half weeks).
Not a perfect analogy Bassinger is pretty.

Every time they have an interview with these wild card guys, they always talk about racing clean this race. It's obviously that's all a lie. If you are a wild card driver and you get next to another wild card driver, you know that you are going to have to talk yourself out of wrecking them. Either that, or you are going to try thinking of a way to wreck them without making it look obvious.

That's not true. Last night at Potomac, David Williams could've parked Kenny Moreland and won the championship but he didn't.

I think a very late bump and run is about the only thing one can wisely do.
If you wipe out a contender mid race it will not be worth the grief.
Nascar might penalize a flagrant offense as well in spite of the normal rules of engagement.
If I was going to intentionally crash someone out to get into the chase, I would use a surrogate team member to do the dirty work.

If Busch gets lap down, maybe someone in the Hendricks empire doesn't pit under the caution, that means no wave around for Kyle and getting and keeping him down a lap is huge for Gordon's chances . I don't think anyone in Hendricks is any dirtier than Gibbs, but apart from a win from either one, Gordon has to make up points on Busch.

But more than likely that will not happen, a last lap bump and run to get a chase spot would be more likely, and the opportunity itself may not even materialize.

Richmond, VA: The capital city of a state that does more "I love America" stuff than any other racetrack while still thinking the south will rise again.

I can't believe I'm seriously considering moving to that state.

I apologize to everyone in advance, I'm very ill tonight and am using Irish medication ;) which is making me more honest than usual.

"Hey Denny, Dale Jarrett you have a copy?" ...Commercial... Kinda random but okay.

On a side note, I will hopefully be attending this race next year. It will be a nearly thousand mile drive, so hopefully rain doesn't ruin it for me.

So who's everyone's pick tonight? I got Dale Jr but if a Wildcard Driver wins I'm taking Joey to win it.

This race will be very wild, so it may be hard to pick a winner. I hate to say it, but I predict Hamlin winning and Gordon not finishing far enough ahead of Kyle, which means Gordon wont make the chase.

I have a feeling this race will be under yellow quite soon due to a shower that is near the track.
