Keselowski & Hamlin have won the first two Chase races as Chase drivers. What driver outside the Chase is going to get a win here over the next eight? What track is it going to happen? We always hear that someone is going to be the spoiler.

I'm going with the newly reconfigured Kansas and the driver will be Carl Edwards. Yeah, Carl Edwards. Remember that guy? I almost forgot that he was still racing.

Kyle Busch for Kansas.
I was just reading some article about Kyle this morning. He was @ Martinsville yesterday for some race promotion thing. The interview that I read made him sound pretty dejected at not making the Chase. Understandably so. I have to wonder how that mentality will play towards future races for him this season. At the same time though, he is jumping back into his Nationwide ride for the remainder of the season. Maybe that is just what the guy needs to get back on track?

Kyle is a mess right now, and I'm concerned he will start driving like an ass and affecting the chase. We've already seen him intentionaly wreck championship contenders in the other 2 series. I really think he is trying to push Harvick into retaliating for his nonsense so Kyle can feel justified in wrecking him.

Carl at Dover could be the first non-chase winner.
It's been so long since I've seen this guy in victory lane that I almost forget what he looks like. He's like one of those people that hit the lottery and then lost his winnings overnight. How can there be such a swing over one season? I swear that if this guy wasn't in the field this Sunday I may not know it without one of the commentators telling me. That's sad.

I wonder if he can get in on Hamlin's sport psychologist sessions? Perhaps they can do a BOGO Free deal?

Dude, are you trying to mess up Denny Hamlin? Kyle would ruin that psycologist in 2 sessions by forcing him to question all his training and all he knows about sports therapy.
Somehow I think the pillow technique would be utilized among these two. I think they put the two of them in a room and let them beat the heck out of each other.

Personally I'd rather see the Danica/Johanna pillow fight session but I digress. Greg?

lol dpk. I'm with you. Seeing Danica get wrecked in a cat-pillow fight would be great.

I'm thinking if anyone other than a driver in the chase wins it's going to be a fluke win. Although I sure would like to see Mark Martin do it.

There are a few guys in the non-chase category who could easily win a race before the end of the season. Of course, 'Dega is a destructor plate track so all logic goes out the window in figuring who might win a plate race (see: Trevor Bayne). I put Pee Wee at the top of that list with Newman second.

Eddie Haskell seems to have gone to the David Reagan Grandma school of driving.
That just breaks my heart. :sarcasm:

Another point that was raised (several times) during the NH telecast was that the driver who won the second chase race has won the championship the past 3 years, JJ, JJ, Smoke. Does that make Hambone the eventual champ?

Boyer, Martin and Biffle before Stewart and Hamlin? What am I missing?

I dunno. But remember, Loudon has not always been the second race of the Chase.
In 2011, Smoke won race number 28 (NH)
In 2009 and 2010 Jimmie/Chad won race number 28 (Dover)

I laugh at the numbers games the media in all sports come up with. Only 1 champ has won the first race, the winner of the 2nd race has.....etc, etc. By the time you get to race 5, the contradictions abound.

Kurt Busch at Phoenix in the 78:D

Kurt will be in the 78 at Phoenix.....I'm thinking he'll have a good chance to win it.
I thought you were smarter than that. Kurt stepped out on his first wife two years ago at Phoenix and now he is paying $78,000 a month in alimony. Now do you understand?

Nice one Smoke. I like the second theory better.

Logano, at Dover. He's been having some consistent runs recently and I'm thinking that he'll be in victory lane at least once before the year is over.

I don't know if you mean once in the remaining races or not but Logano won Pocono in June.

Burton steals one at Talladega
