I'm certainly not knocking the man. He'll be in the Hall the first year he's eligible, guaranteed. My 'Info' tab here says he's a god. He pioneered physical conditioning in the sport. If he ever gets Daytona, the rest of the teams will line up like they did for Dale. And when he says he's just happy to be here, he honestly, sincerely means it.

But there's no place for him (or anyone else) at Stewart-Haas in 2014.

Since we're all NASCAR fans, it can be hard to judge what people outside the sport looking in would think of Mark Martin. Honestly, I think a non-NASCAR sponsor would not be impressed by a 54-year-old man, who has never won a championship, and who has raced part-time the past few years. It's an absolutely unfair assessment, but I imagine it's what a lot of sponsors unfamiliar with NASCAR would think.
