Kahnes Interview at Loudon, NH

Was it just me or was Kasey Kahne totally out of it in that interview. When he got out of his car, he was slow moving. He took a pretty good shot to that inside wall on the drivers side.

He definitely shows signs of a concussion, but lets hope that's not the case. His chance to win the chase has all but diminished at this point, but I'd rather him walk away from this hit healthy than continue to risk himself to further damage in the future if he does in fact have a concussion.

We'll have to wait and see what happens and hope for the best.

Don't think he hit the wall hard enough to have a concussion.

Looked more like he had no interest in answering any questions at that time.

Yeah, he was either super angry or concussed. I think he was just angry and determined to give a horrible interview so the reporter would leave him alone.

Did any replay show what put him the wall? I missed it.

I did not see his interview, but it reminded me a lot of when Jr. crashed at Dover. Didn't look bad but he the wall flush.

He was coming off turn 4 next to Vickers, but was probably going to get into him. He got loose while trying to stay off of Vickers, got sideways, tried to save it but slammed into the inside wall flush along the drivers side. I mean, he was probably mad, but I've seen kahne upset before, but in this interview, he just didn't seem to know what happened. And I believe he says he didn't know how he got to the wall.

They have proven with footballers that concussions are not singular, but cumulative. So for some it wasn't hard enough to have one..not the case they add up.

Just saw his shot at a championship go up in smoke... Dude was pissed

Still haven't seen the interview. Now I'm intrigued. :D

He hit that wall HARD...seriously...watch it...dead flat on the drivers' side....that boy was messed up in that interview. Now don't get me wrong...folks with mild concussions come out of them in 20 minutes or so. He just needed to sit down and figure out who he was and where he was at for some time.

Stunning that they didn't have a "checker" to make sure he was OK before the interview.

He looked clueless.

I thought he was very strange too . Maybe mad at someone and not wanting to announce payback next week , or maybe something else .He sure was biting his tongue.

Finally a new thread that may give everyone a break from the "Thank You Napa Thread".

He just looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there, at that moment. No interest in being interviewed.

He was running on instinct and did the right thing....JMHO but if they had asked him to spell his own name he couldn't have done it at that point.

His eyes weren't focussing....been there...I remember going back out on the football field and my team mates had to tell me where to line up for a couple plays before I got my head straight (ish).

Either he was being a dick or concussed I understand being mad because his championship hopes but do a decent interview for your fans and the reporter he's just doing his job. Ofcourse Kahne has the personality of a shoe

nothing on Fs1 about Kahne..it was the Matt and Kyle show.

Actually it's not that big of a deal...you just don't know anything for awhile. He probably faked it for the Doctor to make sure he could race next week and the Doctor was easy going. He'll be fine after a couple days rest and a big headache.

Unless he wrecked on purpose to help JJ and just acted stupid. The old I know nothing routine.
Now before you people rip me a new one, I'm just kiddin around.
He did look and act spaced.

I think that was Kahne pissed and trying to keep his composure, like an adult.

They let him get back on the track so I'm thinking he was just upset with effectively being eliminated from the championship.

All joking aside, I hope Kasey was just trying to end the interview. If he really needs medical attention, I hope someone close to him recognizes it.

Well he did get back out and didn't crash it again so at least he wasn't too out of it.

I crashed hard once in practice and sustained a c3 compression fracture. About two hours later my race partner noticed I was acting stranger than usual. They took me to the hospital, where the fracture was realized. I also suffered a concussion (#6.)
The concussion wiped out a period of my memory that never returned.

Wow, that's rough.

Yeah there are cases of latency with regarding concussions. Good point Bobby.

You did racing? What kind if you dont mind me asking?

MX/SX. Mostly motocross, the supercross was the extreme early stages. Definitely a young mans sport. I never crashed going slow. Broke many, many bones. Turned Pro before I was 16.

I would comment more, but there are three things I have sworn off: Montoya jet dryer jokes, Bowyer itch jokes, and Kasey Kahne booby jokes.

Pretty damn cool.

We all know that after a driver is involved in a crash they have to go to the infield care center to get checked out.
Don't you think they know what the symptoms of a concussion are, and that they'd look for it?

He was released to continue the race, so that should tell you something.

The symptoms aren't always evident right away.

But people are saying he was showing symptoms of a concussion because of the way he answered the questions after he was cleared from the care center.

If so I think they would have caught it.
