I for one am hoping Jeff decides to up and hang them up before he withers away and has zero skill left like some of the guys who cling to rides in this sport.

So when Jeff retires who will you become a fan of?

I for the longest time thought I was going to just be a fan of the #24 for good, but then I realized I'm more about the driver rather than the number.

Trevor Bayne seems like a kid I could get behind...but him leaving Jeff at Daytona 2 years ago along with his inability to make the jump to NSCS has me questioning that choice.

I haven't really thought about this much until this was brought up a few months ago. I'm thinking maybe Stenhouse since I cheered for him in Nationwide last year.

The driver I go with would probably be someone young who has most of their carrier ahead of them.

Probably just be a race fan with no real favorite. There will always be drivers I like and don't like for various reasons, but I doubt there will be one that I enjoy as much as I do Gordon and can really call a favorite.

I will miss seeing him out there, but I will continue being a nascar fan and enjoy watching every race as before.

It'll be immediately Kurt Busch, as he's my #2 driver, then Austin Dillon will take his current spot. Once Kurt retires Dillon becomes my guy.

I'm torn between the car(though I think the car will go when he does) and Larson. He's impressed me. I've also wanted a driver who just loves to drive. He's like KyBu without the bitchfits.

I honestly don't know, and I try not to think about it. I've been a diehard Gordon fan since '94 and I feel extremely lucky that I picked a driver who not only turned out to be one of the greatest ever, but also a driver who stayed with the same team for his entire career. I still think he's one of the best in the sport, so hopefully he sticks around for at least another 3+ seasons and wins another title.

The Labonte brothers were always my 2nd and 3rd favorites, but Terry is basically retired and Bobby will be soon. I like Kyle Larson a lot, but time will tell. Ideally I would hope that Larson joins Hendrick when Jeff retires. I'm a big Hendrick guy, so that would probably seal the deal for me.

Also, I think that Jeff's replacement at HMS will drive under another number (25 if I had to guess). I can't imagine anyone but Jeff with that yellow 24 on the door.

Hard to imagine, but I hope the 24 doesn't go away.

Unlike others around here, I think the biggest honor to a driver is continuing to run a number rather than never letting anyone else drive it ever again.

I'm a fan of more than one driver. Jeff, Matt, and Tony are my favorites (no matter how they do) and I like several others. And I'm still a fan of some former drivers.
Same here. Harvick and Kenseth are my favorites, then I have a laundry list of guys I like.
