So I just went by LVMS & picked up my first 2014 diecast, Harvicks #4 standard Bud car. I'm not gonna go al out this year, only getting a few. I was wondering if any of you out there who collect diecast know if the Craftsman Truck diecast that come out this year will have the new noses on them. Action has been using the same mold for the Chevy's since the early 2000's, it's about time for a change. I think i'll probably also get Dillon's DOW car, & maybe Kyle Larson's ride as well...

I collected diecast for about 15 years and have tons of the garbage(my wife even took some of it for her kindergarten class to play with)...I've finally realized it's worthless krap that ends up on E Bay or garage sales for a fraction of what you paid for it...it's fine if you enjoy it as a hobby....but don't try to sell it. you'll never get rich!

That's the case with most 'collectables' these days. Everything is so mass produced it's virtually worthless. Stick to limited editions to get more bang for your buck.

I have one of the fancy expensive lionel Jimmie Johnson cars from when he won his 5th championship. It sits on my bookshelf...they diecasts are neat but not worth the money, IMO. I'll stick to the little 1:64 models I can get at Target ;)

I like thwe thought of dicasts but its too expensive for my blood..i have no intrest in selling or value. I just enjoy collecting like worthless baseball cards i have lol

I just like how they look, I've never bought one with the intention of eventually selling it. I don't splurge on it, I only buy specific cars that I like...

I went all out years ago when I was living with my parents and only paid a very small fraction of expenses. Threw all the boxes away so obviously I have no intentions of selling them, but I also have no intentions of buying anymore. I haven't bought any in roughly five years. They are WAY too expensive once you start paying bills.

Ebay. You can pick some up for 15-20 bucks at times. I get them because I enjoy having the different cars in my NASCAR room. I never go to a retail shop and purchase diecasts.

When I was younger I bought NASCAR memorabilia all the time, now I realize you can't cook & eat them. I've got 2 boxes of diecasts & decor just taking up space in my closet.

Early 90's stuff isn't too bad value wise as NASCAR hadn't reached its peak and everything wasn't quite as mass produced.

Yeah I left out that I don't have alot of room lol. If I was to get one, it would probably be an older Rusty Wallace diecast. I do like looking at the Lionel site and seeing the race victory ones with the dings and confetti on them haha.

me too, have lots of matchbox of all the drivers and all of the Sam Bass of DALE .

I figured that if I decorate for Fall and Christmas, I may as well decorate for NASCAR season as well. I've got a bit more but didn't feel like setting it up. I just can't have company over because to them, this would all be junk and a complete waste of money. And while it may be, I still like it! :)

I feel like if you want to get something more than the typical Walmart diecast, Ebay is the way to go. Typically you can find them for cheaper on ebay rather than NASCAR.com. I've also seem them at booths during festivals and even then, they are still quite expensive.

SOME PEOPLE come over and see the camper, boat, fishing and hunting equipment etc and look down their noses at it as a waste of money but go out and spend thousands of dollars on golfing equipment etc or some are techies that spend thousands on stuff that is obsolete in a month or two and then the ones that dress up like and collect sci-fi and super hero stuff and attend this-con and that-con flying all over to attend them. We all have our own deal and It's all relative so screw'em.

I have a few die cast cars but they are 60's cars I wish I owned. They are cheaper than the real thing and you can have more than you can put in your garage.

NASCAR diecast and collectables are such niche items and their appeal is limited to a very small audience....You can do much better with stamps and coins, baseball cards and other MLB or NFL memorabilia....especially if you're trying to sell.

Action killed the market when they started producing 15 versions of the same car....clear window car, clear window bank, chrome, platinum, raced version, gold, elite, ect.

I had everything that Dale, Sr drove, including some of his older cars that came out after he died. I finally got tired of trying to keep up with his and Jr's and decided on selling my Sr collection several years ago. I still have my Jr collection, but stopped buying after the COT came out. I had all the Action 1/64 's also.

I need to inventory everything and try to sell them also...they are all in huge Tupperwear and Rubbermaid tubs just wasting space...

That's where I keep all of mine. :D

great looking collection,keep it up

I guess it's up to everyone as to how they want to spend their money for their personal enjoyment... We all waste so much money on frivilous stuff...... crap that has no meaning or worth..... stuff that goes into a yard sale or just getting thrown into the garbage..... Going out for meals at expensive restaurants... that's money gone forever... I used to buy ''collectables'' back in the 90's.... before everything was so mass produced and different paint schemes for every race.... I haven't bought any in 20 years..... But.. I don't fault anyone who does if it gives them enjoyment.....

Just realize..... it's for your own personal enjoyment..... not an investment because they aren't worth diddly crap to sell.....

Last one I bought was Brad Keselowski championship car.The one before that was Dale Jr. when he drove for DEI.They make so many now I don't bother with them anymore.
