NASCAR Whelen Euro Series

So the euro series of NASCAR is growing over in europe. Does anybody see any European drivers coming over here to race in the future? Honestly I don't. There is one oval on the schedule and its a parking lot. Until they race on more ovals I don't see it happening.

I feel like as long as the FIA has a say in it, oval racing will continue to be rare in the europe. I could be wrong. What do you guys think?
 
There aren't too many places over there that would build a track for only one or two races a year. Even over here they have to combine a Hall of Fame, or a casino, to justify spending that kind of cash on a track that is used very little. Europeans prefer acceleration to top speed, because there aren't too many roads over there, that are straight enough to see what a car can actually do. Most roads over there have lots of turns that wind through hills and mountains. By comparison Nascar cars don't accelerate nearly as quick as formula cars or touring cars. Nascar might catch on a little, probably about as much as American football did, but I wouldn't expect much more.
 
What kind of cars are they using? Also what the **** does Whelen even produce to sponsor so many racing series? I ask this because honestly I don't have a single Whelen product in my house.

The thing has only been sponsored by Nascar for a couple of years and is growing in popularity.

It would be cool to see at least one foreign talent come over to nascar, but the closest well ever get was probably JPM.
 
There are several Mexican drivers close to moving up from the Nascar Mexico series.
Nascar has done a good job growing oval stock car racing in Mexico.
The euroseries is many years behind even the Mexico series in developing talent and a fanbase. Check back in a decade.
I think a Nascar Brazil series could also succeed. Brazilians are huge motorsports fans.

These regional series don't have to be huge successes right away. It's about slowly building the market for stock car racing worldwide.

Nascar dreams about being the F1 of stock car racing. Nascar Mexico has been their most successful job so far at building a stock car racing culture in traditional F1 territory.

The euroseries faces long odds in the heart of F1 territory. But they are just trying to start small and grow slowly. This is a long term process.

Honestly, I'd like to see the Euro Series race as well. Who knows, maybe in a decade or two we could have a NASCAR World Cup Series. Where top drivers from NASCAR Sprint Cup, Mexico and Euro series all compete in races around the world to determined who is the world's best NASCAR driver!

I want to see it because from what it sounds they race on road courses.

Yea, I doubt they'd be able to race the oval cars in the NASCAR World Cup Series.

Am I the only one that prefers oval racing to road racing? I mean I love both kind of racing, but if I had to choose one over the other, I'd choose oval.

What's interesting is that the first oval race in Euro Series history was done in light rain and rain tires.
 
I caught a segment on Fifth Gear where one of the presenters drove NASCAR style cars on a road track. He ran two half hour races (I think he has a racing background). He called them "beastly cars to drive" but I think he enjoyed them until he was taken out in both races. I don't think it was a pro series.
