Now I know we don't have 900 members posting but...I am constantly seeing new faces posting. I think it's great!!!! Makes the board more interesting and keeps it alive.

Did any of the members of the board that shut down stick around? I've seen Pat and Lin. Forgive me if I am not seeing you post here.

I just wanted to start this thread about how great it is that the board is thriving.

Don't get too excited about the number, lisa. We have a lot of registered "members" who sign up, never make one post, and are never
seen again. I just haven't cleaned out the list in a while.

How do you determine who to prune out? Just the zero post counters or it doesn't matter if you have 1 or 8000 posts?

Usually it's those that have been members for 1-2-3 years with zero posts

As a new member, I can say that I enjoy this Site, and reading the comments. Still trying to learn the ins and outs of the site though, but am getting there slowly. Some of the most popular Christian sites I have been on/am on can have thousands of members registered, but if one actually counts the active members, a really good number would be 100 or so.

I removed some 'members' today --- most had signed on more than 4 years ago and had never been seen again.

I can pull up this as an example:
Joined: Jun 29, 2011
Last Activity: Jun 29, 2011

Then I can search for posts --- there isn't one more often than not. Some people just like to collect "memberships" --- like to brag I'm a member of 'so many' forums.

I have a feeling a lot of these people were real captivated to post something and voice their opinion, sign up to do so, and then change their mind. I've actually done that, to be honest lol.

Just curious how many have signed up over the past 3 months. I think the forums on NASCAR's official site were taken down around that time. Not that those forums were any good, but fans now have one less avenue to express their opinions and likely tried flocking elsewhere.

A forum I frequent has been around since 1999-2000 and boasts of 43,081 members.
You see the same members posting in the various sections day in and day out. I seriously doubt there's more than 300 active members.
They've never purged the membership, there's a guy still listed who died 8 years ago.

Some people will sign up and after reading derogatory remarks about race or nationality will just leave.

Quite a few have left because the same 4 or 5 trolls constantly bash them, their driver or both. That stuff gets old quick.
Drivers and Nascar personnel are /should be fair game but not the fans. I guess some are just really thin skinned or they worship at the alter of (insert driver name here).

NO. This is a family oriented forum. Calling somebody thin skinned is a cop out that bashers utilize. Trying to justify bashing also gets old. I'm not admin and I don't pretend to be but I have my opinions.

I could never understand different screen names..what a waste of time...Just say it like it is, take you lumps and move on:D

It always makes me happy knowing you would NEVER bash my driver ;)

We do have one still listed as a member who died in 2008. We loved her so much we just couldn't delete her account.

The most depressing forum I've ever been to is an ALS support forum. Full disclosure, I have never signed up, I just read through posts from time to time because I have a friend battling it and just want some perspective. There are very few long term active members but a lot that were very active for a couple years, which is to be expected. Depressing and cathartic at the same time to read peoples' experiences as its kind of like mile marking where my friend is headed.

I really enjoy Racing-Forums because it has a pretty darn diverse range of members. I respect almost everyone on here especially those that have opinions that make me question my own.

Hi folks,I'm new here because work has blocked me from other NASCAR sites I used to chat on.Let's see how long this lasts..lol.I'm learning my way around right now but will start posting more when I get more familiar.

I am sure kmart will like to see another martin fan
