No disrespect intended, but we are a long way removed from the era of farmers and milkmen who couldn’t care less about the twisties. SVG is doing it against the deepest, most talented, and most competitive field of road racers in Cup Series history, and in like machinery.

Wouldn’t you agree there’s so much more drama induced by the format now?! NBC had three boxes picture-in-picture last night showing the battle for the race lead, Bubba, and Buescher! Wild stuff. When was there ever that much drama before?

Yet another vindication of the playoff format tonight! Drivers have never tried so hard to win a race. Winning a NASCAR Cup Series race has never meant more!

There’s no backdrop like the summer sunset behind the tri-oval grandstands at Daytona. Such a critical race. Can’t wait!

No way! The stakes and intrigue in any given race are higher than ever before, thanks to this format. There’s nothing else like it on the planet.

It would be great if that increased to between 8-10 races.

The most bittersweet time of the year. But I can’t wait! What a quartet we have this year. Phoenix is a great location for the finale.

And supposedly more people are watching NFL and CFB than in years? Yeah, right. This feels rigged.
