Chicago Street Race Pre-Race Thread

The Loop is the multi-colored rectangular area on this map that indicates the location of the elevated rail lines that encircles what was once the central business district of Chicago.

Grant Park, where the street race will be held, is to the right side on the map.

Where is the martini bar?

I've got a frozen (best I can do in Hawaii) Gino's East deep dish on stand by for Sunday. Looking forward to a good race in my home town.
Man my eyes are super tired and read that as a dozen and wad like good lord man

Bubba qualifies P6?!?!?!? Thank you Jesus and the race sim!

And starts next to SVG in a battle of the burger mongers.

Good run for Bubba. The 5 team just has something figured out. So much speed in that car.

Regardless of whether or not the season ends with a championship, I need to see at LEAST a 6 in the win column by the end of the year.

Way too much speed this season to not be on the better half of a single digit win total

I listened to WLS after 6 PM local time here in Florida back in the late 60's and early 70's. It was a flame throwing AM station back then. At a certain time all local AM station had to cut back their output power at a certain time, have no Idea why but, WLS would come through most all the time. I am a XM guy now.

I think that was called "the skip", location of the towers, the output, and atmospheric conditions. When I lived in Northern Kentucky in the 70's I could regularly pull in a station from New Orleans with a hot transmitter and a big trucker audience.

P.S. WLS and WCFL were the soundtrack of my youth.

WNOE was in New Orleans. Back then certain stations were granted by the FCC to broadcast in higher power. AM radio. I lived kinda in the middle. I could get WLS and WNOE most nights.

I think Larson gets win #4 tomorrow. He seems to have a little different attitude this weekend, understandably so given the recent races.

Well…yea. But that voice you hear introducing the drivers is long time PA voice of the Chicago White Sox, Gene Honda

The idea is to introduce the drivers to people who might not follow the sport.
While I hope this is successful, I'm skeptical. This weekend introduced me to the names and faces of the musical acts but that hasn't been enough to motivate me to search for their material.

For that matter, having someone do the anthem hasn't caused me to look at his or her work either.

Was surprised to see NBC is covering the indycar race leading up to the nascar coverage.

Gibbs runs good on RCs. That kid is eventually going to put an entire race together.
He could have a good day, but Larson is Larson...and SVG's race craft is unbelievable.....If he gets it, he will have to earn it. LFG!

Larson, Gibbs, SVG.....Don't sleep on Bell. It's going to be fun. The sport is better when there is a guy to beat, and that guy is Larson. Period.

Great, that'll makem for sure earn their money today.

If in fact it does rain, anybody want to guess how many times Gregson hits a barrier today?

I'll start = 6 times.
