2024 Italian Grand Prix

Of all the people in the world, Bernd Mailander would be the last person I would have guessed.

Brakes were out.

Bernd mitigated more damage by spinning out, but he knew his brakes were out and spun himself out into the barrier.

Heads up driving.
That explains everything. He jinked a bit to his left, then spun the other way. I wondered why, but apparently, he unbalancing the car to set up the spin.

I read today that Red Bull is reverting to an older floor and some other old pieces to try to find some speed.

Really bizarre FP1. Max looked totally lost and then in the end he was fastest. Botas first flying lap lead the session right up until the last 10 minutes and then fell off the cliff. Tough to get a read on this one.

Welcome to F1, rookie. Parabolica will get you if you’re not careful. The resurfacing only makes it trickier.

I think he's going to be a problem in about two or three years.

He's pushing on new surface and going 100% from the start. He has a lot of confidence in his abilities, great way to start.

I'm hoping Colapinto has a great weekend. He appears to be as fast as Sargent, but without the drama. He had a nice, clean session. He just needs to find a little speed, but I am sure that will come.

Again, hard to get a read since Max lost his best lap due to Mag's red flag, but Lewis and Lando look really strong and the Ferraris are in there too. Q tomorrow should be great.

Going to write a dissertation on how Logan Sargeant is actually the best driver F1 has ever seen but was simply too fast for the Williams’s capabilities.

Red Bull seems utterly lost. I don't want to wish them any bad luck, but we need them to have a few more weekends like this to get the championship competitive again. 70 points is way too big.

Leo Fornaroli takes the F3 title by two points over Gabriele Miní with a last lap, last corner lunge.

Didn't expect to see Leclerc so fast. Not surprised Max has moved forward a bit but that's probably all he's got.
