Hopefully Denny runs at same spot tomorrow night. It would make an awesome playoff cut race.
He's having a hell of a showing in his audition for '25. Hope someone notices.48 on the pole at Bristol.
Another nail in the coffin of Alex Bowman’s career.
I found this.Did JGR fire Almirola? I thought he had been reinstated.
Awesome. Most hearty congratulations!Happy Race Day! My second son was born today, so I’ll viewing tonight’s race from the hospital. It’s Bristol Baby!
It looks like even Nascar's media is having a bit of a problem with the fudged up qualifying positions.
There's absolutely no reason for it. Larson qualifies 4th and starts on the front row? Where is the logic in that?
That could take 3 weeks...It takes 3 pages to explain simple qualifying lol.
Now let's do the points system.
So in round 2, a driver isn't competing against all nine other drivers, just the other four from his first round field? The next fastest cars in Qualifying Round 2, that came from Qualifying Round 1A, are lined up on the outside (P4 thru P10).
The next fastest cars in Qualifying Round 2, that came from Qualifying Round 1B, are lined up on the inside (P3 thru P9).

Well, I guess it's better than giving all the teams a 30-minute window and watching them watch each other for the first 27.
It has a participation trophy ring to it. I've noticed sometimes that clumps of the faster cars will be in say round one and mostly slower cars will be in round 2 hence the differences in speed. They haven't made it any fairer IMO just more complicated. That's what I get out of it.
It appears to be an attempt to somehow even out the differences in track conditions between Round 1A and Round 1B.
Oh, that's easy. Do qualifying in iRacing. It appears to be an attempt to somehow even out the differences in track conditions between Round 1A and Round 1B.
“William Byron wins his 23rd pole of the season”Oh, that's easy. Do qualifying in iRacing.
Next (perceived) issue, please.
Nope, I will be watching at home tonight.Hope you're having a blast out there Greg, doubling up on tonight?
The starting line-up, as shown in the Qualifying Round 2 table, is determined differently this year. Confusing for sure, so take notes if necessary.
The fastest car in Qualifying Round 2 that came from Qualifying Round 1A and the fastest car in Qualifying Round 2 that came from Qualifying Round 1B are assigned the pole position and the outside pole (P1 and P2). The fastest of those two cars gets the pole.
P1 - Bowman; P2 - Larson (the fourth fastest in Qualifying Round 2, but the fastest in Qualifying Round 2 that came from Qualifying Round 1A)
The next fastest cars in Qualifying Round 2, that came from Qualifying Round 1A, are lined up on the outside (P4 thru P10).
P4 - Truex; P6 - Bell; P8 - Hamlin; P10 - Elliott
The next fastest cars in Qualifying Round 2, that came from Qualifying Round 1B, are lined up on the inside (P3 thru P9).
P3 - Byron; P5 - Briscoe; P7 - Hocevar; P9 - LaJoie
go figure
