FINALLY !!!!!! NASCAR Officially Recognizes Bobby Allisons win at Bowman Gray

moving him into sole possession of 4th on the All Time win list over Darrell Waltrip with 85 wins. Congrats Bobby!
What drove them to change their minds in 2024, did they just learn something new they didn't already know?

1990 has a winner

It's about time, it was strange how Tiny Lund's two victories in those Cup/Grand America Series combination races were counted towards his career total but not Bobby's win at Bowman-Gray(which was also the last points-paying cup race at Bowman-Gray). Good for doing this while Bobby is still with us.

Congratulations to Bobby Allison for his win, which entitles him to a spot in the Championship Four at Phoenix.
Drawing inspiration from a certain young man only a third of his age, BOBBY ALLISON is going to WIN the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series title from his RECLINER in ALABAMA!

To all the people who have so much faith in NASCAR, how come it took 53 years for them to figure out that SOMEBODY won that race? In light of current events, I think it's appropriate to point out that NOBODY consistently poked the bear that is NASCAR more than one Robert Arthur Allison. Bobby is a hero, the current pokers are looked at as villains.

Nobody, no doubt

From the article @Spotter22 linked above,
That race at Bowman Gray, from that day until Wednesday, October 23, 2024, never had an official listed race winner. It was the first of six combination events run with NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Grand American Series cars in 1971. The other five races were always a part of the race winner's career NASCAR Cup Series stats.
Can anyone tell me why this race was treated differently from the other five, why no official winner was listed?
