It worked. My guess would be they were working their tails off keeping the 12 car in the hunt, and Logano was driving something they pulled out of the back room.

That makes too much sense. Here’s an idea.
Have a Full Season 36 race championship
As well as a playoff championship
If someone wins both in the same year, give them some huge money bonus. That way people have a reason to try all year to get the best finish possible every week, but you still have your silly little championship race every year.
And we can have the title unification fight on Pay Per View. Here’s an idea.

The pick a 4 car monte round. And we can have the title unification fight on Pay Per View.
There is no way NASCAR and its broadcast partners will ever revert to a system that crowns a champion in any series before the last race of the season is run.
They’re 20 years into this thing.
I’m real interested in buying a Flo subscription for the Cars Tour, I might buy it this weekend for Florence and the return of Southern Jesus in the 8.Flo racing has been a big help for me. I don't have to take Nascar as seriously when there is a sufficient substitute to get my racing fix in. As Nascar and the TV weasels they have sold their souls too continue to reach for another band aid after band aid to fix their made for TV playoff fiasco they call the playoffs, I find more sanity watching the various dirt racing series who keep it simple.
