RFK Racing News

Preece isn’t a bad guy but he does nothing to excite me. And I’m not seeing how his RFK equipment will radically improve where he is now. Maybe I’m missing something. Aside from his sponsor.

RFK ran a lot better than SHR last season

Maybe Preece will win a couple next year and make it to the final 12 or 8. I’m just not seeing it. Again not saying he can’t drive. Just that I am not seeing him as a consistent top 10 driver or feeling any excitement. I’m fine if I’m wrong and he lights it up. Guess we’ll start to see in 3 months.

He fits in well with Buescher and Keselowski. All three have quietly become veterans. All three have been with Ford a long time. All three have lots of experience driving crap cars and getting the most out of them. Not saying RFK is crap cars AT ALL, but it is likely that the three of them are a wealth of information and know how to improve racecars. Just look at how far Buescher and Kez have taken RFK in 3 years.

I think Bullins could possibly elevate their racing. He was with Penske for a number of years and with Brad when he was a threat in the 2 car. I don't see a shop that the teams work separately with Brad being in charge so it's possible Bullins could be able to raise their level.
On the other hand, I've seen enough of Preece's racing. I think he came with the deal. Time will tell. Buescher was getting more out of JTG's cars than Preece was. I don't think that is going to change.

Ryan Preece was a really good spokesperson for Kroger.

In addition to the promise that there was always more to unlock at the Cup Series level for the 2013 Whelen Modified Tour champion, Preece is also just a really good spokesperson and the retail giant never forgot it.

I am a Ryan Preece doubter, for sure. But this is an interesting piece from Matt Weaver. He makes it pretty clear that Kroger's affection for Preece was very important in putting the Kroger-to-RFK move possible. And Tad Geschickter, another important player, lent his full support to Preece as well.

Time will tell. And I readily admit that Brad Keselowski does seem to have a very astute eye at spotting driver talent... such as an unemployed Joey Logano... and a very young, unproven Ryan Blaney, just to name two.

I'm calling it right now, Preece will win a race and make the playoffs.

I said to one of my NASCAR buddies planning next October's Last Vegas race... "we live in a world where NASCAR could be on the edge of collapse by next October or Ryan Preece could be in the Round of 8 and a multi-time winner."

I said this with SHR but it is great to FINALLY see Preece in a competitive Cup ride.

Not before we get Briscoe to victory lane. I look forward to celebrating with you!

I don't want to hurt your feelings but in my opinion Joe Gibbs (with new partner) are now chasing $$$$ just like Roush did and I think they are going to follow the same path. Looks to me like they are going to hunt Truck trophies.

What? You don't think Mahindra Briscoe isn't going to set the world on fire?

I trust your opinion. Your insight is amazing and awesome. Excuse me while I give up because you said so.

With a record in 4 full time years, 144 races, Briscoe has a whole 2 wins, 13 top 5's and 30 top 10's but he has a Mahrinda sponsorship. It tough to come up with any other conclusion than a money grab. We all know ol' sold out Joe loves his sponsors. It's pretty much all he talks about. Revman? Have you heard that we should be looking forward to seeing Joe on a tractor next year?

It's not like SHR was putting out race winning cars the last few years. The fact that he was able to win at all in those cars is actually rather impressive.

Yeah, I know Briscoe is the last person you would think would be a good fit for the 19. Absolutely nothing in common with the culture at JGR. Your insights are gold....and nobody.....literally nobody thinks that Briscoe has any talent at all. None. Good catch.

Your thoughts about Joe on the tractor next year? Yea or neigh?

Ten bucks says Revman has already called the local Mahindra tractor dealer seeing if they have any Chase Briscoe swag.
