2025 Rule Changes

I'm in a mood to drop a grenade in the septic tank this morning, so

Why is there a guaranteed position in the D500 for a driver who's never raced a stock car but there are two past champions who have to qualify on speed or Duel results?

Enjoy.

The he-man nascar haters club doesn't need grenades tossed to make them have bad takes, it's what this site is built on.

That isn't a grenade, barely a weak firecracker. Go and check out the ARCA post I laid in there. You will figure it out.

Because a name like Helio Castroneves makes some people tune in who might otherwise not watch the 500.

I think they're stuck between a rock and a hard place on this one given all the race manipulation last year. If the same thing happens this season then they'll be forced to change the format.

NASCAR doesn't provide anything other than some playoff points for winning the regular season title, right? Asking for a friend.

All the Kyle Larson fans upset he races other things than NASCAR could always petition the Frances to provide substantial cash incentives to teams and drivers for winning a regular season title. Seems like that would make drivers who race as a profession probably stick to the one that provides them compensation for consistency.

If the opportunity is there, be it poison ivy, Jones don't pass the 11, it will happen again. It has happened for years.

Hey, NASCAR, what happens to a driver who is running a Truck or Xfinity race at another track and is prevented by weather from reaching the Cup race? Same loss of playoff points?

Controversy, more publicity and an answer that doesn't make a whole lot of sense I'm guessing. This probably will work about as well as boys have at it.

They probably didn't think of that and I don't think they'll have to.
Now that everyone with more than 5 years of experience can't run more than five lower league races they'll use these few starts to get seat time at Cup tracks.

Yeah, I think it might have some influence about that. Gibbs in Xfinity ran a car that was almost exclusively driven by various Cup guys the last couple of years trying to win the Xfinity owners points. It hasn't worked to win, but the car has done pretty well with Ty and nemo, Bell, young Truex and some others driving it.
Also, so many races are at the same place helps a bunch for drivers not missing races.
