How many days until the 2025 Daytona 500?

I think I still have a Rodney Combs t-shirt from about 1980. (I'm a hoarder. Don't judge)
@KTMLew01 is probably also a fan of the man from Lost Creek.
How ended up in NC. Tried to get into Nascrap with him when he intended to have 3 truck teams. WeedEater sponsorship fell thru. So I ended up going to work for Merchants Tire in Durham (had a buddy that lived in Chapel Hill to crash with). Doubled my income going from WV Mercedes/Cadillac/Chevy/Toyota/Geo dealership, to a tire store.

Jan 1996 was the end of my racing pursuits. DONE!

As ancestors of current NASCAR management look on, the driver and owner of the #4 car hurriedly search the rule book in an attempt to avoid disqualification.

The Linder family is still in the sprint car game.

Macedo, Kofoid, etc.

Great article! Thanks for sharing.
That’s my old stomping grounds and over the years I been able to go back and enjoy the sprint car races in NW Ohio. Watching these youngsters develop at Attica and Fremont has been quite enjoyable.

All the same guy...I used to work with him at the quarry back in the day. Art Ball was always smiling, always around to chat with fans, heck of a racer and one great ambassador for local dirt track racing. RIP
His numbers:
301 Feature Wins
30 Track Championships
50+ years racing
Last Feature win at age 76

^ Bitten by the bug and never recovered. Last thing he thought about before he went to sleep and the first thing he thought about when he woke up in the morning. 😎
