100K to win Crown Vic race: I'm pretty sure that's more than teams get to win a national NHRA event and it costs more to make one pass than it does to build a Crown Vic to race with. Absolutely ludicrous.
 
I wonder what back gate cost is for teams on those events. Even for 100k how big a crowd is going to turn out to watch compacts...now my guess is they expect to get like hundreds of cars but like you say in the title...finances are a little odd. Cool to give lower divisions money to race for but wasn't there something about that big modified show last year where it took them months to pay?
 
When they had a $100k 604 race a couple of months ago, the entry fee was $500. That still doesn't cover the purse.

And yes, the open wheel winner last year didn't get his money until he got on social media and complained about it. They are notoriously slow for sending out the payout.
