You can tell it does. And he’s talked about it for such a long time also. I wonder if Allgaier’s championship gave him a little extra motivation to get it done.Jr always plays it cool about JRM going full time in Cup, but he was on the verge of tears there. Truly means a lot to him.
I meant the drivers at risk on the track. Saying a yellow wasn't needed is easy in hindsight. The quicker the safety teams can get moving, the better. Those people in the booth make more in a year than a lot of us will make in 20. Your Mike Joy, Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer, Dale Jr., Jeff Burton types, they have more money than they'll ever spend. They're not at risk.
Yeah, he was holding the kid at every moment he wasn't in the car. Probably going to make space in his trophy case.Wasn’t his new baby there?
Fords are good as usual. Gonna be fun.Cool win by Wallace. I didn’t get to watch last night but racing seems good from what I read and heard this am on TMD. Wasn’t his new baby there? Very cool night for him. Congrats to Cindric as well. Were the Fords competitive or was it right place right time for the 2?
....and Erik knows it....but he handled it perfectly. I like this guy. He is to himself. He doesn't take any ****. But he shows up in front of the camera with class.Throwing the yellow several hundred yards from the S/F line does nothing for safety. Those in the back are still going very fast even if they attempt to slow down. NASCAR can spin it all they want, but that was a bad call.
It looked pretty even across all three brands to me. It's going to be crazy.Fords are good as usual. Gonna be fun.
He went up many notches in fandom the way he handled it.....and Erik knows it....but he handled it perfectly. I like this guy. He is to himself. He doesn't take any ****. But he shows up in front of the camera with class.
I'm certainly not downplaying Erik's reaction but let's remember the big picture. He walked away with nine points of a possible ten, and the team will get a good pick for pit stall. Last night's races set the field on a track where starting position is closer to irrelevant than all but one other on the circuit. Starting sixth here doesn't make much difference over starting fourth.....and Erik knows it....but he handled it perfectly. I like this guy. He is to himself. He doesn't take any ****. Always liked the Jones boy. Class act and a damn good driver.....and Erik knows it....but he handled it perfectly. I like this guy. He is to himself. He doesn't take any ****. But he shows up in front of the camera with class.
Yeah, but like Erik pointed out....it would have been a hell of a boost to have some fun in victory lane after last season.I'm certainly not downplaying Erik's reaction but let's remember the big picture. Out of all of the three brands, I think the Hendricks are starting in the bucket.
He's a great dude, and has been through a lot. One of my all time favorite sport stories is how he sought out the Corvette (yes, I know it's a Chevy) his Dad sold to fund his career after his Dad's death. He did it without fanfare. That is a good dude IMO. I like Holly too....a racer....He went up many notches in fandom the way he handled it.
The Jones boy has what few have in this world, integrity. Lost his Dad, he got a raw deal from the preacher, made it work at Petty with no complaints, and hopefully finds success at Legacy. He's a great dude, and has been through a lot. For his kid?Yeah, he was holding the kid at every moment he wasn't in the car. Probably going to make space in his trophy case.
back in the 90s and early 2000s we always renewed our tickets to the qualifiers. It was our Daytona race to go to. The seats were upper level at the start finish line and the front stretch grandstands were packed, practically sold out. Back then there was real drama playing out and fans came out to see it. Last night's attendance looked pretty dismal to me and with them racing at 174 mph I can understand why.Not with this product. Even now, with the race on the line, they should be pushing 200 - 205 mph and they're barely getting to 185 - 192 mph. Makes me glad I didn't pay the $200 to make the hour trip over on Sunday. At least Formula 1 is starting soon as well, read speed and performance there.
Wonder what a Next Gen car, prepped for Daytona & turnkey, costs? $300K? Very likely to be junk by end of race. I ain't got the bawls. You can tell it does. And he’s talked about it for such a long time also. I wonder if Allgaier’s championship gave him a little extra motivation to get it done.
Also before leaving DEI originally he wanted ownership. He always believed it was built for him. He likely thought that opportunity was taken away and wasn’t sure if he’d ever be back here.
That could even be a good thing if he ever makes it full time. Instead of ownership being handed to him, he has worked his ass off to earn his way back. You can tell it.
I will agree with all of this....including the deal.....I didn't like that at all......and it bothered me that WE didn't/coudln't find him another ride.....glad he is back with a company that I think has his back. I am not going to lie.....I would love to see him in Victory Lane Sunday night. The Jones boy has what few have in this world, integrity. Wouldn’t bother me one bit….even if it is in a Toyota.I will agree with all of this....including the deal.....I didn't like that at all......and it bothered me that WE didn't/coudln't find him another ride.....glad he is back with a company that I think has his back. The bawls are the easy part. It's the checkbook balance that's tricky.Wonder what a Next Gen car, prepped for Daytona & turnkey, costs? $300K? Very likely to be junk by end of race. I ain't got the bawls.

It’s so weird to me. He was a FORCE in Infinity with JGR then just kinda blah in Cup. Very odd to me. I figured he’d be a sure thing in a JGR car. I looked for him to move KyBu out of the top spot eventually.
