Bristol Motor Speedway (0.533-mile oval) – Bristol, Tenn

(9 race sets plus 1 set transferred from qualifying)

Minimum Recommended Inflation: Left Front — 16 psi; Left Rear — 18 psi; Right Front — 46 psi; Right Rear — 44 psi

Notes – Fourth straight Bristol Cup race on this tire set-up: Being on 18-inch bead diameter tires, NASCAR Cup teams will run a different tire set-up than those in the Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series at Bristol this week . . . this tire set-up debuted on the Cup cars at Bristol in September 2023 . . . while this right-side tire code is unique to Bristol, Cup teams also ran this left-side code at Dover last season . . . with this 18-inch tire, and its lower profile sidewall, NASCAR Cup cars do not run inner liners in any of their tires.

Wet Weather Tires – Goodyear brings white-lettered “wets” to Bristol: Goodyear will bring its 18-inch wet weather radial tires to Bristol for the NASCAR Cup cars, should NASCAR determine that conditions warrant . . . Cup teams will have a maximum of 4 sets of wet weather tires for the event . . . NASCAR Cup teams last ran the wet weather tire in competition at Chicago last July . . . in addition to the obvious difference of a tread pattern versus Goodyear’s dry weather “slick” tires, the “Goodyear” and “Eagle” lettering on the sidewalls of the wet weather tires is white, not the standard yellow.

Goodyear quote – Stu Grant, Goodyear’s general manager of global race tires: “We had an interesting couple races at Bristol last season. What we found was that track prep can really impact the racing on that concrete surface, and the track will be prepared with PJ1 again for this race. The bottom line is that Bristol is one of the most exciting tracks on the NASCAR circuit, with its high banks and 15-second laps around that half-mile speedway, so fans are always treated to a great race.”

I would keep going, but it is just too far away..Glad I went when I did!!
I've visited there a lot, starting when I was 7 and watching Dale Sr (and DW but he was a back marker by then), but I just can't make the walk anymore. Some damn great times, and a couple of crazy rainout nights. They are interesting at times, especially with thunderstorms etc.
Love Bristol, but the race itself does seem to go by damn fast honestly sometimes. It's almost more of a spectacle being there all day and just experiencing it.

That isn't exactly true what Kez bro says. Xfinities were setting fastest practice laps all over the place, some were doing it that far into a run but not that many.
