Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Pre-Race Thread

I'll let @Greg explain what I mean by that . . .
Yeah I'm a player for prime one time for the races. Sick and tired of playing got ya streaming monte in order to watch just a handful of only Cup races. Nascar whoring around the series I don't believe is going to help ratings and will do more harm than good except in their pocket books. And no, I don't give a flip how many viewers they are supposed to have on prime. It hasn't made a world of difference for Xfinity moving to CW. The question is how many are going to watch Nascar? Time will tell.

I am confused, what's the four crown jewels?
Is there a time frame like winning them all in a single season?
or a career?
Well it was listed at the top of the tweet: Daytona (Daytona 500)Charlotte (Coca Cola 600) Indianapolis(Brickyard 400) and Darlington (Southern 500). As for the time frame, it’s career. No single driver has ever won all those races in a season.

C'mon, people, the first friggin' month of Prime is free. That will get four of the five race Amazon will carry. Sign up and then use whatever system you have to remind you to cancel in late June. By the time next May rolls around, you'll likely be eligible for another free introductory offer.

The fourth race has long been contentious. Some say Brickyard, some the Talladega 500-miler, some (including me) say the Bristol night race.

That would require them to use a small part of their brains, and there's nothing the fanbase hates more than small amounts of rational thinking.

❤️❤️❤️My favorite race of the year!!!❤️❤️❤️

I'm getting married next year on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend.... My fiancé said "ya know if we leave Saturday afternoon, we can make it to Charlotte and catch the 600 on Sunday as a mini honeymoon".

What a queen.
Holy ****! I will take "How do I know I am marrying the right person for $200 Alex?"

So is the rest of the year on Amazon Prime? I've never watched a live event on it, can I start it from the beginning if I'm late? Can it be rewatched? I like to go back and relive great moments.

Next five on Prime. If you sign up for a 30 day trial on Sunday, you can probably get all five races and cancel before you get billed.

Do I need to create a new account?? It’s wanting to charge me $14.99. Perhaps I’ve used too many free trials over the years.

So we have one fail. I haven't attempted it yet. I have never done a free trial with Prime. I will be surprised if I don't get the gotcha though.

The picture quality of the next few races will be amazing. The NFL games on it look ****** great, can't wait to see the races on it for the next few weeks.

But yeah, if you sign up on Sunday, you'll be able to get all the races in the free trial window.

Yeah, just looked

From the first race on Prime, to the last on Prime, is 28 days. So def anyone who wants a free trial, get it on Sunday, and cancel it at the end of the last Prime race, and you'll be good and won't be charged.

Technically you should be able to cancel anytime. I’ll often start a trial, then cancel almost immediately just so I don’t forget.

Well said. I agree, the quality of the broadcasts is absurdly good

FWIW, if you try the Prime free trial, check out the other entertainment available there. We have Prime due to using Amazon regularly. But we also find lots of good shows and movies to watch. As said, the quality of the streaming is excellent. They also show some content in 4K (wish these races were in that format). Bottom line, you may find enough value to make it a regular service beyond the races.

I mean, obviously that’s the hope from Amazon. That’s the likely reason why the deal was put together in the first place. If you can afford it and aren’t really concerned about the specific content they have, I think Prime is very useful and worth it.

Yeah true, I think I only ever had one that would end it right when I hit cancel on the trial and I can't remember which one it was lol.

I already had prime thanks to the NFL experiment, so while I don't like it...meh. That said, the stream quality of the prime NFL games was solid. So at least that's not a concern.

I may look but we don't watch much scripted TV or recent movies anymore, no so-called reality programming, and our only sports are golf and motorsports. PBS and TCM are 90% of everything else we see.

Ty Gibbs has a better chance of winning Sunday than Amazon has of me sticking around after Pocono.

If you choose to get Prime, I recommend watching “Totally Killer” sometime during your trial. It’s an Amazon original. It’s a good, slightly scary time travel movie. One of my favorites when it comes to scary movies.

100% with you. If a fan can get past the old school stuff, streaming is the way....and I hope we get all the way there ASAP.

I must apologize…I don’t actually read threads before I post on them.

With that said, I didn’t know Johnson was racing this weekend. I always root for him when he does race.

This has been my favorite race weekend for many years, and this year is no different. My first choice would be to see Larson win a double. Second choice would be to see Larson win the 500 and Bowman win the 600. If Larson doesn't win the 500, then I hope either Newgarden can go 3 in a row or Helio can win number 5. I also wouldn't be disappointed if the new kid leading them to the green pulled off a win. I'm in a hotel this weekend and I will still get to watch the 500 but I will have to watch the leaderboard and listen to the 600 on MRN. Since they have moved to Prime, I'm sure I won't be the only one not watching the 600.

Sigh. I gave in. The 600 is one of my favorite races. It's home to most all the shops, drivers, crew members. I've been there live and it's a great place for race fans.
I'm not a movie person. I will cancel everything within the time period. If I wanted their services, I could afford it, but I'm not interested and l don't throw away money. I'm retired, so I do count the pennies.
